Yeah so I saw the bit from the devs about introducing new code to NPC's so that they act less... NPCish. They can heal(?) now, supposedly, but not run away. Bravo.

But what's with NPC's switching aggro from their original target to drones? I mean, ffs... it was bad enough with drones inducing 'buddy aggro' (ie, more NPC's become aggressive when previously they were not)... but now they actually become targets themselves when conventional methods to negate said buddy aggro (ie, ****ing off NPC's preemptively) were already in effect.

I have only run one mission which can confirm this for those of you concerned about this. If/when I run more stuff in the near future and observe the same, I'll post them here. I'd encourage for others who observe the same to also post their observations please.

L4 Vengeance, 1st stage, angel cartel version

In regards to mods and IBTL jerks, this is more of a thread with the intent of specific information gathering for missions as opposed to someone just *****ing about new features/bugs/etc. It's not like CCP are likely to do anything about this fun new device because it doesn't involve PvP or me bribing them at fanfest, so we may as well inform each other as to how to adapt and better prepare for these new encounters.

CCP company line: If your not running missions in a Raven, you don't deserve to run missions.

Yes, but then you have missions, that you need a Raven but they don't allow a Raven to use the gate...Of Course, they don't tell you this so you end up taking a rating hit because the mission becomes impossible in the only ship you have. And I am not about to go buy a new ship to do the mission that it would just get blown up in anyway..

Um, are you refering to complexes or cosmos missions? Yes, alot of them are limited as to what size ships you can use, and most do say so in the form of 1/10 (frigate), 2/10 (Destroyer) etc... If they're not soloable in a smaller ship, get some friends to join you. That's what I did. This is getting off topic, so I'll try, again (the forums don't like firefox), to add something to the list.

L4 In the midst of deadspace, Caldari/Amarr, all parts but especially the last stage of the last part.

The only one I'm aware of for which this is the case is Worlds Collide at level 1. If you're doing that in a Raven I reserve the right to laugh at you.

Yeah, the cute thing is that I realized that pretty much the only acceptable way to ***** missions is with the Raven. Shame on me for deploying drones with it!!!

I've tried level 4 missions in a Dominix, Megathron, and a Typhoon before succumbing to the effectiveness, if not outright monotonous style, of the Raven in missions. This is pretty sad. The Dominix was fine, but obviously drone aggro made the ship not so viable for me. The Megathron was hands down the most fun mission runner I tried, but it quickly became annoying to chase down NPC's that simply tried to keep a distance from me. Had they orbited, okay, but just plain running away is teh suck. The typhoon, overall, was the best of all these ships, imho, but because of its setup, it took incredibly long to finish missions.

Anyway, I havent done any other missions after the one I mentioned earlier. The whole wrecks concept really turned me off, while this new NPC behavior was a laugh in the face on top of everything. I'll see about updating this when I identify similar behavior on other missions. Again, if any of you observe similar behavior, please do share.

Only mission I have attempted post Revelations is Lvl 4 Mordus Headhunters.

I notice no discernable difference between post or pre Revelation.

I run ALL level 4 missions in an Absolution or Sleipnir.

You do not need a Raven.

There seems to be a multi-wave version of the Mordu's Headhunter mission now. The 2 blob one is still round too, so you wont know in advance.

NPC have the ability to switch targets for quite a while.

Some missions do have explicit anti-drone and anti-support teams. You launch drones or a second ship warps in and they'll head for you from wherever they are, aggroing all their buddies along their flight path. Some of those teams do not attack you and continue blinking yellow until you shoot them.

NPCs have always been able to heal, this is not a recent change.

Again, this is a well know occurence in certain "rooms" on certain missions. Solution: warp out and don't deploy your drones next you return (or only do so after there is a number of NPCs you think you can tank). Again, certain npcs have been known to do this - what next, are you going to complain some start to warp scramble you? If your talking about drones randomly choosing a new target after being assigned one, however, then yes I hope thats righted.

Run more missions before complaining about them and if there really is something you think is a bug...er, bug report it. Alot of the time its either your setup (specially which hardeners you have equiped), your skills and your knowledge of how the aggro works on the mission (ie. run more missions) that effect your performance.

As for keeping each other informed, do a web search on google for Eve Info. This is a database of missions that, due to Revelations, may be alittle out of date but should soon get updated the more missions are run.

Caol,

I'm aware of http://eveinfo.com/missions/4/, but thank you anyway. It's a great site, indeed. I've been running missions longer than most will probably presume, given the tone of your post and that of my original. That said, I am a somewhat experienced mission *****. Yep, I'm an alt.

When I mentioned NPC healing, I was merely recalling an upcoming change pre patch. I am aware that NPC's heal, or more accurately, reset after being pulled away from a particular area and that this has been happening for quite some time. I'm also aware of warp scrambling NPCs, and so on. I would appreciate it, and I am sure as would many others in the future, if you didn't choose to presume so many things about a poster you know nothing about and then furthermore impose undue condescendence.

I've only run Mordus (the blob version) afterwards, and haven't observed the same target switching methodology as I did in Vengeance.

As sort of a way to balance things out, I will say that it is possible that I jumped the gun a bit because I became so absurdly frustrated with wrecks as have many other fellow pilots. Yes, I ended up *****ing for the majority of my original post, but I attribute that to the lack of attention given by CCP towards improving drone vs NPC behavior after all this time.
