The first chapter of the Revelations expansion has been deployed and Tranquility has been opened. If you have any issues after the deployment, please check the Known Issues page to see if the Dev Team is already aware of it and submit a bug report. If you are unsure of what has been changed in this patch, please take a look at the Patch Notes page.

Please keep feedback constructive and on-topic. Negative or off-topic posts will be removed.

The Dev Team will be monitoring this thread throughout the next few days to keep abreast of the patch deployment and status. This post will be updated as the deployment progresses.

The Patch Notes were updated during the deployment, including the following entries:
*A close range high damage alternative for missile users has been added. A new missile launcher type called the heavy assault missile launcher, 4 new tech 1 missiles and 8 new tech 2 missiles have been added. The launcher does not require a new skill for its use, but the new missiles require the Heavy Assault Missile skill. This skill has been seeded in Caldari and Minmatar space.
*The Squadron Command skill has been renamed to Warfare Link Specialist.
*Drones can not be ordered or provoked into attacking ships or other drones owned by their controller.

UPDATE: You can now download the full Revelations client (build 27912) from the Download page.

Known Issues (from this thread):
*Wrecks- no distinction between looted and unlooted wreck, inability to rename wrecks in OV, timer for decay needed? Drones do not attack wrecks.
*Characters 'losing' skills after jumping- this occurs when a player jumps into a system where a node has recently died, something that occured a number of times after the deployment. We are working on a fix for this.
*Graphics flash when the next system loads after a jump.
*Patch does not load- usually a symptom of a modified client. If you changed or deleted your splash screen, you need to replace it or install a new full client. EVE Files has been kind enough to host the splash screen.
*Recon Probe Launcher I modules and BPOs not on the market- known issue, will be patched in on 5 December.
*Kill mails not being sent?
*Planet rings flicker through planets, stars sometimes do the same.
*Moons in new regions not reporting results after being scanned.
*Bookmarks were not deleted by CCP, players need to delete their own bookmarks. It would have resulted in a much longer downtime for CCP to automatically delete them.
*D3DX File missing preventing players from starting client.
*Various requests for the map and scanner systems.
*Camera views reset after undocking or jumping.
*The About EVE window needs to be updated to reflect Revelations.

The Dev team are looking into a number of ways to resolve the lack of connectivity for players, characters stuck during session changes, the manner in which wrecks are displayed, looted, etc., and a solution to the lack of ability for some players to load People & Places for the deletion of bookmarks.

You can't invent Transport Ships or Elite barges.

No market slots for Gallante or Amarr Encryption skills (there is for Caldari and Minmatar).

You get a white graphical flash when next system loads after gating.

I cannot prevent the map loading when I push the CTRL key (my PTT key for vent/ts)

Tried repatching from a fresh install and I still cannot liberate my CTRL key.
How do I unbind any and all map stuff that is impeding me from using the CTRL key?

Also - the map does not remain flattened when closed and reopened.
the button says to unflatten it, but it loads unflattened.
when I unflatten it and reflatten it, it goes flat, until the next time I reload it.

I do need my CTRL key, tho.

There appears to be a problem with interdictor bubbles. We've tried a few, and people still seem to be able to warp to gates at 0km while it's up.

I don't know if this was asked already, but what is the current status on converting the old escrows in place to introduce all of it back into forms of contracts?

There's nothing showing as contracts for 2-3 days escrow i had set, now i'm just wondering how long or how to get them back.

Thanks. Keep up the good work i guess, kinda dropped a bit in FPS running dual Accounts in window mode.

I'm getting a message that a dll for D3DX was not found and that the application may not run properly. Click it away about a dozen times before getting to login screen. For some reason starting the patched client also opened a DOS-box running cmd.exe which did absolutely nothing.

Minor annoyances:

Windows that you open from the NeoCom don't steal cursor focus (contracts, calculator, etc) automatically anymore.

Online/Offline popups are, like, all over the place (I liked the lower right corner)

You killed our overview settings again. Although, you are forgiven, because you re-fixed the un-fixed (previously fixed) overview.

The map sometimes acts funny when you have it flattened, and go from system view to starmap. The map will load, flatten, rotate, and then zoom all the way in (into a blank section of space). Only fix is to go back to system, then back to starmap.

Major Happiness:

The new map (omg! warping!).

The new ships (although you didn't seed the NPC market with them, and I seem to be missing their BPO's Laughing).

More corp titles! I didn't see this anywhere in the patch notes, but thanks for doubling them!

All in all, a job well done.

The market is lagging a bit due to the database lag and the server settling in. I ended up purchasing 2 of the Heavy Assault Missile skill books because my wallet and assets didn't update in a timely manner. That said, anyone want to buy a HAM book? Wink

I have to press escape whenever I close the game and log back in to the game for the UI color changes I put in manually to re-take effect.

I also have a question, I know that new characters and characters under 800k got a bonus to skills to make them around the 800k mark, and then had their clones upgraded accordingly. I'm a 14.5mil sp character, however, and my clone has been upgraded to 32mil, when I can be in a lower clone grade, what's up with this? I'm not complaining, just confused. Did I get more sp, and a clone upgrade, or only a clone upgrade?

The loot seems to have completely disappeared. I've run one mission that I normally have a heap of loot on and got absolutely nothing.

Also, I'm with everyone else on the we must have some sort of indicator for wrecks that have been looted and not yet salvaged. On some missions there's 50+ wrecks littering space, which means I'm coming back in with a salvaging setup (tractors + salvage rigs) and knowing what is what is impossible right now. A lot of wasted time and visual clutter.

Edit: Another "bug".

In a gang, no bonuses are supposed to apply unless you have the wing command skill. I don't. However, if I make a gang with a friend and promote myself to fleet commander, I still get all the bonuses from gang skills (most noticable for the mining amount for me). My gang members do not get the bonus. At least according to everything I've read, none of us are supposed to get the bonuses unless the commander has the wing command skill.

Problems with StarMap:
The starmap now uses a new camera, and while this camera is fairly crap/******ed/makes me want to kill myself in general, there is one really significant problem:
The map flat
The map 3-D, seen from above, at an angle

The first is the map as seen when flattened, with an autopilot route going off to the west. The second is the same map, same route, seen from above in 3-D mode. Notice the line is now going in the opposite direction. The 3-D map, now that it has a concept of up and down, seems to disagree about which way is up. I don't really care which way is east and which way is west tbh, I live in the south, but it does mean that my usual 3-D view, which is the same orientation as flattened mode but tipped away from me a bit as in the screenshot, is not longer available without putting the map backwards.

Secondly, here is the map, on the same settings and within 30 seconds:
If I go from system map to starmap (normal)
and if I go from in-game directly to starmap (screwed up)
The glow on the stars indicating player activity shows up in the latter example if you zoom in quite close.

I really like the new patch, except for one BIG thing...

The "directional scanner" feature seems to have been changed in a dramatic manner.

The little map is gone. Is it possible, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE to at least make that little map an option that can be made visible?

Without it, I need to use the F11 map to help with scanning (seeing what belts/planets are seperated, and need to be scanned from to cover the whole system), whyich is INTENSELY irritating, and less efficient.

The lack of that map makes it harder to visualize scans, and much harder to find targets when solo.

For example, I enter a new system, and off the scanner I am unable to see that Planet 7 belts cannot be scanned from the planet 9 belts, and that neither can be scanned from the gate. An overview setting DOES show this, but not as neatly as a map.

I don't see the reason for removing that map, since it is still visible by hitting F11, just not as nicely (and it kills screenspace).

My other gripe is the new universe map. The dark blue background was MUCH better, the black background makes it very hard to see anything for some reason. The Dark Blue was much easier on the eyes.

I have only found a couple minor bugs. The biggest one so far is new BPO's added to the corp hanger are not displaying on the Corp Blueprints tab of the Research screen. The only way to put them into research is by right clicking them.

1) Undock and ship disappears
2) Buttons missing from the Places Tab in People and Places. Can't create safes of midwarp safes.
3) Taking an extraordinarlily long time to log on (sitting at Entering Game As....)
4) Could only drag one item at a time from ship cargo to hangar. Had to close/reopen to move another item.
5) Icons for people on Buddy's List popping up in the upper left corner of the screen (obscuring the system information) instead of the bottom right (like it used to be)

- CONTRACTS - Selling in bulk via the contract system... Best explained in the following example: I have some cosmos loot items, I want to sell them. They can no longer be sold on the market. The mission for Item X requires a batch of say 30 units to complete the mission. I have 300. Before, I'd throw them all on the market, set it for a few weeks and watch them trickle out. Now I've got to make multiple contracts in batches of 30, AND I no longer get to see market history. So I just have to "know" how much to charge. Giving the fact that most customers already have a few of the items, got tired of trying to farm the rest and now just want to purchase the remainder, they are now being forced to buy extra or not enough. So they are now forced to make a contract as well, instead of just buying the exact number they needed.

I do like the fact that someone going through cosmos doesn't need to find one of an item to find it on the market anymore, they can just search contracts... but the actual buying and selling has just become much more of a hassle.

Suggestion for a fix. --warning: no more than 5 min was spent thinking this out, i'm sure there's a flaw here somewere and is only intended to get an idea out there--

I'm assuming the reason that certain things cannot be sold on the market because it would bog down the database and clutter searching the regular market with all of the random loot items one can find. So why not have a second market? Call it a 'bazaar' or the 'black market' or whatever. You can still keep the contract system for fitted ships, rare modules, or anything you wanted to auction. Just give us the choice, please!

Please remove the totally arbitrary restrictions that stop large numbers of in game objects being bought and sold in the brilliant, simple, easy to use, market. Trying to use a contract for something the market already handles brilliantly is an exercise in frustration.

Anyhow, I was quite surprised at how smooth the deployment went. Anticipated disconnects and lag, but much more than I have gotten. Good job.

Scanner: What is really going on here? I am an avid user of the directional scanner. I spent months mastering both range and angle, and the tool I used most was rather simple...A graphic to the upper left that showed my position in the solar system in conjunction with the warpable points. WHERE IS IT??? How am I to use a directional scan properly if I am unaware of my position in the solar system?

Think about it.

Last puff of steam:

Contracts. The removal of escrow and its replacement with the more complex "contracts" is all fine and dandy...but why are we not allowed the option to view "all regions". Not only have you effectively made it harder for traders to have their goods seen, you make it harder for the consumer to find the goods.

give us "view all" again...the economy will thank you.

Overall great stuff, but here are some issues, mostly map related... the wreck issue was already brought up, so I won't mention that again :)

- flat map doesn't stay flattened when map is closed, but button still thinks it is

- flat map needs to flip about its z axis when zooming in to a system, making it take much longer to get in

- switching map levels often causes the zoom level of the next level down to be stuck zoomed way too far out (e.g. when i'm in the ship level, I can't zoom in all the way to my ship, but can only soom in to the 20km or so range) I can't reliably reproduce this, though.

- The map often gets confused as to what state it's in after the transition; for example, i'm now looking at a map where everything is extremely dark and faint -- systems appear barely as a dark pixel, and lines are invisible. (Security status set for stars, all lines for lines.) It looks like the way the map looks like at a step of the transition.. if I zoom in the lines become more visible, but they're still extremely dark.

- Warp To button in overview appears on everything, not just distant objects (orbit used to be in its location, now it's one over).. this might not be a bug, just a change.

Havent seen this mentioned anywhere else.

I know that T2 precision cruises were getting a nerf in flight time etc - but ive noticed that the stats stay the same whether theyre mounted in a launcher or not. Almost as if the skills and bonuses are not being applied to them.

Ive double checked this with standards and precisions in and out of launchers and the results are the same every time.

Hopefully its an oversight, or CCP have just launched T2 missiles - for me at least - into the realm of
"why bother with them at all?"

So I accepted a courier contract, picked up the item, docked in the station it told me to go to, put the item in my hangar, and went to go complete the mission, but there's no button to complete the mission. I also have a message pop up whenever I go to the contract browser saying one of my contracts (I only have this one) requires your attention. I go to it, but everything looks in order: I have the item where it needs to go, and there's still no complete/fail button available.
