A new distribution mechanic has been introduced in Kali called Exploration.
One of the biggest issues we have been facing in the past of the development for EVE is; there isn't a need to explore the world.
This new mechanic will allow people to fly around and try to find hidden scenarios, using the revamped probe system scanning system.
The gameplay will be a mixture of a chance based system scanning and movement within systems and between systems. Players will scan for objects with the chance of finding "hidden scenarios".
The hidden scenarios are semi-static deadspace complexes, which from time to time moved between locations (within system or between systems) based on player interaction.
The main sport will be finding these scenarios, some will be rare and harder to find while others might be more frequent and easier to find. Players will be able to find multiple deadspace types in the same system, while others can contain one to even none.
But as they will be "moving", no systems will be more popular than the other. Meaning that over time the deadspaces will be moved from one system to another and another after that.
We have created a distribution mechanic that will deploy hidden locations throughout space, pockets which will move to new locations when they feel like it, but depending on what the pilots are doing in the world.
With this mechanic, players of all types will be able to strike gold, hit the jack pot, find the golden pot under the rainbow or what ever someone might call it.
We have added more than 250 individual hidden scenarios. Including; pirate outposts, hidden asteroid belts, profession sites and gas cloud sites.
Some of these also have a chance of escalation which is described in another topic.
