QuestionQuestion Any suggestions? I want to utilize the 250 more cargo room (over the Mark III) and the 1 extra medium slot for speed but the 15 LESS Power units has me totally baffled???? IdeaShocked Is this some kind of twisted joke ? Evil or Very Mad Why did I even bother training for this ship????

The common progression with Iterons is:

Mark I (if you really can't wait)
Skip Mark II
Mark III (second best out of the lot)
Skip Mark IV (We all know it sucks)
Mark V (Cruiser speeds, 14k cargo and decent EW capability.. yes please!)

In other words, yes the Mark IV is a joke and thats why you never see anyone fly 'em.Stick to Mark III, or if you really need one and have 28 days to spare, get a Mark V.

You're Caldari, so I assume you have high Perception and Willpower - most Gallente don't. I have 25 days left to train on mine - was 31 all together (my Per/Will are both on 12 - after training up my learning skills).

And yes, the Iteron IV is horrible. I know because I'm piloting one atm Sad Best I can do with it is to put 3 cargo expanders and 3 ABs on it and even then I have to worry about NPC gate rats Confused

I think its unbalanced so the Dev Team needs to look into it. Otherwise its a ok in Empire space hauling from station to belt if you have good bookmarks. We have itty 4 pilot in our corp and he uses his mk 3 more.

hehe, i have 20 each for perception and willpower after lvl 5 skills and basic implants, but i didnt think it would knock 13 days off the usual training timeSurprised

Iteron 4 is ok once you have enought skills to fit 3 abs without any mods.
I can now fit 3 abs on my itty 4 with 3 good expanders 1x22 and 2x24's i got over 7k cargo space enought for 2 giant (i think) cans and a few hundred left over.
they also do 300m/s + with this setup
yes itty 3 is tougher but it's slower and smaller (not my much but still is)

Maybe my math is screwy, but isn't it 1,024,000 skill points for Iteron V? So wouldn't that be 20 (percept) + 20/2 (will) * 1.10 (learning 5) = 33 skill points/min. Then 1,024,000/33 = 31030 minutes = 517 hours = 21.5 days? To train it in 18 days you'd need to be running 39.5 skill points/min, so you'd need something like a 26 perception and 20 willpower. Is my math wrong?

Still, most Gallente pilot-types have around a 12 perception base, so if they maxed it out they could do it as fast. But then again you spend 3 weeks training learning skills to save 10 days of time on the one skill that you want (at least in my alt's case). Wink

Get a Bestower... and train up your itty 5 skills when you get a chance... I get 7000 + cargo and 850ms + in mine.

I hate to say it, but the Bestower is a problem that needs to be fixed. No way should it be a level 1 indy. Compared to a Bestower, training for Iteron V is a bit like going for 10 drones - something that only eccentrics do.

Note that using your indy ship increases your skill points all by itself. Not much mind you but if you use your indy a lot it cumulates nicely over time.

Thnx all. My alternate Character has a Bestower - VERY good Indy ship!!! Not much to purchase and train AND it holds 7430 with just basic expanders and Indy Level 3, (so far).

My main character is the problem. Being French, I mean Gallente, I guess its a Developers joke to have us Gallente train for so long for Indy IV only to LOSE 15 Power UNITS ???? HELLO ??? IS THING THING ON ????? QuestionQuestionEvil or Very MadEvil or Very MadShocked ITS LIKE OK - YOU GET an extra 250 cargo and 1 more Medium slot - but PSYCHE - YOU CANT USE IT ShockedQuestionQuestionEvil or Very MadEvil or Very MadEvil or Very Mad
Sorry - just doesnt make any sense whatsoever to have the Mark IV as an option. That is my personal protest. So after I get my BS trained - I will train the 25 days for the Iteron Mark V.

PS - Anyone wanna buy a Mark IV ?? Question- It still has that new ship smell and the floor mats are included!! ?? LaughingCool

Actually, a Bestower isn't a level 1 indy. Thanks to its bonus it's a level 1 - level 5 indy depending on your skill. A Bestower with L5 Amarr Indy skill has the 2nd best cargo in the game (second to the Iteron 5) but so what? You trained just as long as an Iteron 5 pilot and have less to show for it...

It's not the Bestower that is overpowered, it's the other ships that are too weak. Iteron 5, Badger 2, and Bestower (and maybe Mammoth) are the only indies worth using. Iteron 2? Wreathe? Has anyone even SEEN these? Rolling Eyes You have the Iteron 5 (best cargo), Badger 2 (best defense), Bestower (2nd best cargo, easy to train for), and Mammoth (best agility and speed)... and then you have a bunch of 2nd rate ships.

i think they have mixed up mark3 and mark4. in my oppinion the mark4 is suppose to have mark3 powercore and vice versa. but its just not the powercore that differs, shield, armor, structure is better on the mark3 then the mark4

it would make sense if they have mixed thoose ships up, because of the stats of the 2 ships.
