Ok so I don't know why I did this, but I did. I came across the website for the Kazakh football union here

As you can see, they are looking for a U21 coach:

To the attention of coaches and agents.

The Football Union of Kazakhstan kindly informs you that position of the head coach of U-21 national team of Kazakhstan is vacant. CV of any possiable candidates can be sent by fax: +7 3272 921885 or by e-mail

So I don't know why, but I thought I would send in a cover letter and CV and see if I get a call back. My CV has some personal contact information so I didn't post here, but here is the cover letter I wrote, let me know what you think:

Quote:
Dear Sir,

I came upon your advertisement for the position of Head Coach for the Kazakh U21 team. I would like to take this time to introduce my qualifications and explain why I believe I am a perfect fit for this job.

Like many people, football is the great passion of my life. From a young age I have played, cheered in stadiums and watched games on TV. The tears of Platini in 86, the anguish of Maradona in 90, the folly of Baggio in 94 have all been burned into my brain. While one enjoys a good game of football, one enjoys winning even more. More so than other people, I understand the value of winning and will bring a taste of it to the glorious nation of Kazakhstan.

But winning will not come instantly, and the challenges we face are real. My approach, if given the job, will be to assess players individually and see what their true talents are. Once the analysis is complete, I will work with the assistant coach to come up with a formation that works for us. A few friendly games here and there will keep fitness levels up, and the rest should take care of itself. I have no actual coaching experience, but have used the Championship Manager computer simulator several times to win the World Cup and English Premiere League with teams that are 2nd and 3rd division today.

In addition, having watched many games in many venues across the world, I have heard and listened to some of the most compelling strategic and tactical discussions of our time. With this knowledge, I will bring a balanced approach that will incorporate all schools of thought, from German precision to the Brazilian Samba. This means we can look forward to many goals while conceding very little. It means that the Kazakh youth, exposed to all these tactics today will be ready for the national team tomorrow. Hand in hand we can plant the seeds of the future.

With me at the helm of the glorious U21 Kazakh team, not only will winning scores be the order of the day, but also the talent developed will be a great asset to the national team for years to come. With my vision and your abilities, impossible will be nothing.

In the end, I am certain that my football learnings will make benefit glorious nation of Kazakhstan.
