Jump clones really aren't hard, but I remember being confused by them at first too. It works like this:

If you're in a NPC corp, then you need to have an 8.0 or better standing with the corporation that controlls the station (i.e. Gallente Federal Navy Intelligence, Caldari Navy, La Dai, etc.).

If you're in a player corporation, then both you AND your corp must have an 8.0 standing with the controlling corp.

Access your jump clones from the same spot where you check your skills in training. It's a tab below that. Right-click on the bar that lists the jump clone location and select the option to jump to it. Also, you have to stop your skill training before you can do it.

Once you have a clone, you can jump to it from ANY station with medical facilities no matter your standings there. It will then leave your current body as a jump clone there. In this way you can get a jump clone anywhere you want really, regardless of standing.

You can only jump once every 24-hours. Remember this, because you leave your implants behind when you go, so you can hurt your skill training a bit.

That's pretty much all you need to know, really. :)

You don't have to jump OUT from a station with medical facilities. You can clone jump out of any station regardless of whether it has medical facilities. Look at it as that you only need a medical facility to create the jump clone, not to store it.

Additionally, don't clone jump from the same station as the clone you are jumping into or one of the jump clones will be destroyed and I believe it's usually the one with your implants in it.

Got my first jumpclones a few weeks ago. While confusing to begin with, they open up a whole new world, since now you can safe-guard your implants, jump all over and not worry about duying!

The way I got clones was as follows..

Choose whichever standing you have the highest. Its usually the people you do misisons for. Get your standing to 8.0 or above, NOT including the connection skill. While this skill boost your standing with your agent, it does not come into the equation when installing clones.

Next setup a new corp (you will need corp management skill to level 1, cheap skill, like 1 hour to train). A new corp you say? why. well... personal standings come into it, but since everyone is in a corp anyway, its the corps standing against the station that counts. Getting a corp standing above 8.0 is a ball ache, so its better to just create your own. Since your the only person in the corp, only your standing will matter. with me so far?...

Okay so you have a nice new corp. now what. you have to resign any roles you have with your old corp, then wait 24 hours before you can join the new corp. its a pain, but there ya go.

24 hours pass, and now you can join your new corp. wahhey. check the corps standings against your desired station, it should match your personal one (as in you have more that 8.0). okay, now were rocking.

Next, find a station with a medical bay thats owned by your chosen NPC corp. I used to do security missions for Caldari Navy, so I looked at all their stations and to which had medical bays. One small point, if you have a standing with caldari navy, it does not mean you can install clones with any caldari type station (i.e logistics), this limits the amount of stations you can choose quite a bit.

If your going to choose caldari navy, then your in luck, there's one in Vuorassi, which is the one I used. Hop over to it and click on the medical bay button. the usual install medical clone window opens. Click on the other tab and you get an install clone option. click on the mother, pay your cash (a few k) and you have a clone! simple right?..

Now the next part is easy, but can be confusing.

Once you install a clone, you do, in effect, have 2 clones. ill explain....

What you will do next is to fly to wherever you want your first clone to live. I had implants on my main guy, so i wanted to leave him in empire where my production was, with a view of just jumping into him to skill train and sell stuff. thats one of the beauties of clones, once i set them up, I went implant shopping and got a full +3 set; since your only really going to use that clone as a training clone, so go nuts with the implants....

right, so you fly to your station and dock, now what. well its simple. you open up your personal info window, and under the skills button (and maybe another, i forget) will be a jump clones button. All you do is click on it and you 'jump' back to the station where you installed your first clone. sweet...

Now, you just repeat. install another clone as before, fly out and leave that one wherever you want. One thing you cannot do is jump more than once in any 24 hour period. if you try it will show you how much time you have left. Some sort of UI timer would be great!, its a pain stopping learning skills to try to jump, only to be told you have, like 4 hours left.

Anyway, thats pretty much it. you just keep installing the clones, moving your current guy around and jumping back, thus leaving a body in the desired station. training to get 3 clones (remember, you 'really' have 4 bodies, so 4 clones), does not take too much time. You need the endomorph skill, 1 level for each clone.

Thats about it. kinda went a bit nuts there, was only going to be a short post. Think it explains it in an easy to follow manner. Most of it I learned by trial and error, but this should answer some questions and stop you wasting your time tying to install a jumpclone in a moon or something.

im kiddin....

That is all unnecessary, you can just leave your current player corp, install the jump clone from the newbie corp, then get back in to your current player corp. It worked for me as a Gallente running Gallente missions (so all Gallente faction corps involved).

Maybe it doesn't work if you're an Amarr running Gallente missions, for example, since your automatically-set Amarr newbie corp wont have a high standing with the Gallente faction. I've never tried it that way, so I'm just speculating.
