well, i read on these forums that for fleet pvp, most battles happen at 200km...

how is this possible?

currently, i want to train to be a gallante battleship user. a large railgun says accuracy falloff at 34km... ??? even with sharp shooter at level 5, that would give 10% extra distance, so 37.4km? not only that, for the gallente battleship megatron, it shows a targeting range of 72km.... ??? how does that work?

im soo confused...

You have a few things misplaced.

The range of guns is it's OPTIMAL range, not falloff.

Falloff is an indicator as to how far away from optimal, you start to really lose damage.

Second: Sharpshooting gives 25% range, not 10, it's 5% per level.

Third, add in ammo bonuses, iron gives +60% range, while special tech 2 ammo gives +100% range.

You can target at that exteme distance with sensor boosters (~50% extra distance) and with long range targetting, which is 25% at level 5.

Check the tech 2 guns' optimal range, add those numbers togeather and you get 200km, give or take.

For one, you can possibly hit out to optimal range + 2x falloff (Linkage). Two, Spike ammo doubles the optimal range on your gun with a base optimal of 58km. Then add on a couple tech 2 tracking computers, and you have an optimal range over 175km after you account for skills.

Targeting range? +20% from skill, plus a couple +60% Sensor Boosters.
