Her name was Catrella and we had met as children on CAS in Cistuveart. Her parents were both Mimnatar Professors of Cartography on loan to CAS from the Illuin Republic University. We spent much time together growing up from teenagers to young adults and we loved each other very much. When the both of us graduated from CAS, we both took our first steps into our separate careers. Catrella chose to follow in her parents foot steps and embarked on a career of Stellar Cartography and I, well, I fly Iterons for the Gallente Federation Merchant Fleet. We prepared to be apart for awhile as we both got situated in our chosen professions.

Several months later while running ore from Tar to Renyen I received word that her joint expedition deep into the Catch region was ambushed by raiders. The raiders split into small groups to avoid being caught by the Amarrian authorities. With some further inquiries and a little ISK, well, a lot of ISK, I found out one of the raider groups sold their human trophy's to an Amarrian slave trader. I don't have much else other then she may have ended up on Etav X. So I found myself, well, bribed myself onto a contract hauling ore and minerals to and from the refinery in the hopes I could see if this was true.

Etav X was owned by the HZD Corporation and the bulk of it's work force was slave labor from races around the various Empires. As I worked on the hauling contract I tried to keep in mind that I had little contact with Amarrian's and hoped that not all Amarrians shared the same view of slavery.

After acquiring quarters on the station I set in motion the second part of my quest to see if she was really here. In between hauls I manged to query slaves and other station workers to see if they had seen anybody matching Catrella's description. I had to be very careful in asking around as to not draw any attention to myself.

After about 6 weeks, I found out that there was a woman on the station that matched Catrella's description right down to the birthmark on the back of her neck. She was working in the milling bays on one of the loading teams and apparently she had brought a reputation with her. As I am told, shortly after her capture, the raiders that held her captive tried to make her and a Gallente female their concubines, they both resisted. They apparently put up quite a fight and I was told the raiders found them more work then pleasure trying to have their way with them. Finally, out of frustration or lack of ISK, Catrella and the other female were sold to an Amarrian slave trader. What exactly transpired between her being sold to the slave trader and ending up here on Etav X is sketchy and stories varied as to how she ended up here. I wasn't able to find any more information on the other woman.

I tried to find a way to the milling bays to see if I could catch a glimpse of this woman, to see if it was Catrella but all my efforts failed. Each time I tried to make my way down to those levels I was turned away by Amarr Guards, keeping unauthorized persons out of the milling bay but on the 8th week I had a stoke of luck. A Mimnatar transfer worker had noticed that I had been trying to get down to the milling bays, heh, guess the Amarr security forces aren't as perceptive as those enslaved on the station.

He approached me while his transporter was being loaded with Veldspar from my cargo holds and while looking at his data tablet quietly asks, “What business do you have with Catrella?” That statement was like a kick to the chest, I could not believe my ears, she was here, she was actually really here! I take the data tablet from the transport worker as if to review it and said, “Can you take me to her?” He pauses for a moment and takes a deep breath then says, “I can't help you and if you keep trying to get to the milling bays, you may find yourself working there, or worse.” I was dumbstruck, I pleaded with the slave worker, “You must tell her that I am here, please, or, here, at least give her this.” I reach for the holo-locket dangling from a chain around my neck and give it to the Mimnatar, “Please give this to her and tell her I am here, please!” He takes the holo-locket and bears his attention back to the transporter being loaded. I head back inside my ship, step into my state room and lay back on my bunk thinking of Catrella and of what to do next. I can only hope that she tries to make contact with me once she gets the holo-locket, IF she gets the holo-locket.

After the next days haul I inspect my cargo bay as usual for any damage done during unloading. An Amarrian woman comes up to me and asks, “So it's a woman you seek?” A bit worried that the Mimnatar I gave my locket to may have been an Amarr agent I struggle to come up with an answer, “That depends, my taste in woman are quite particular.” She smirks and remarks, “Oh please, I'm not here to pimp out Catrella. I am well aware of who you are and why you're here. You see, not all Amarrians believe in the practice of servitude. Some would very much like this practice done away with as we are more then capable of supporting our Empire with out the blood of slaves on our hands. I can help you but I can not get you a free pass out of the station. All ships are scanned for stowaways as the depart. I can have her sent to your room on the station, for a small fee of course posing as a station prostitute. After that it is up to you. I can only do this once since Catrella is not know to be forced into such acts easily. If you do not act tonight, you may not get another chance.” The woman turns and walks away. The womans statement brought me both hope and sadness, the hope I may be able to free my Catrella and the sadness of what she may have endured after all this time. I retire to my quarters on the station and start putting my things together not know what the night will bring.

I lay in my quarters staring at the ceiling when I hear the door chime ring, with a press of a button the door slides open and there she stands before me, short cropped black hair, tan skin, and deep emerald green eyes. I quickly pull her inside and shut the door, I hear the click of the lock. We launch ourselves at each other into an embrace that sets the stars-a-fire. Our eyes shut and we said not a word, the tears from our eyes mingling as the fall from our cheeks. I pull back to look at her, “My God it's really you.” I run my hand down her back in a warm embrace and I wince a bit, with her arms around my torso she pulls me in tighter. I know realize what I felt, scars, scars from being punished for her repeated disobedience towards her captors. “There is little time and we must work quickly.”, she said as she looks up into my eyes, “my masters are already suspicious that I am here doing that which I would not do willingly for them.”

“Follow me and do as I say.”, I reply.

I put a hooded cloak around her and grab my things which are already packed and ready to go. I open the door and look both directions down the hallway and see no sign of activity. With my belongings in my pack and Catrella in tow I make my way down to the pilot elevators and head for the space docks. “There are two guards at the entrance to the space docks. Please do as I say and trust me.” Catrella nods receptively as we reach the docking level, the guards are just around the corner.

I exit the elevator first then yank her off behind me. “Damn you slave, its not clean, my cabin is still a mess!” The two guards straiten up and look in our direction. “This time you will get it right or I will punish you again!” She stumbles as I pull her towards the entrance to the space docks. We are stopped by the guards and asked where we are going, I show them my docking pass and pilots license. “What about her?”, one of the guards ask. “She was to clean my cabin aboard my vessel and failed to do as I ordered. I want her to finish the task I paid her masters for.” The guard grabs her arm and looks down at her ID bracelet, the second guard leans over for a look as well. “Damn, her ID bracelet!”, I thought to myself. I quickly pull out a canister of paint that I had in my maintenance bag and spray them both in the face leaving a nice blue stripe across their eyes. I pull Catrella to her feet and we both bolt past the guards, Catrella back-handing one as we pass, the other manages to hit an alarm. All of a sudden the surrounding area was illuminated by flashing red lights and the alarm signal was deafening.

We knocked other pilots and station staff to one side as we made are way down the main access way to Tube 7 where my Iteron is docked. An Amarrian pilot lunges at Catrella forcing her to the ground. I swing my maintenance bag hitting him in the face throwing him backwards. Catrella starts to stand and I fling her over my back as if she were light as a feather, “Thank God for adrenalin.”, I think to my self. I run down Tube 7 with Catrella slung over my shoulder, hit my hatch remote as we exit the Tube and dart inside my ship. I set Catrella down on her feet and we both jet for the bridge. I hit the emergency release override on the docking fields freeing the ship then run through a shortened startup of the ships engines and systems as a station security team makes it's way down the Tube, they are halfway to my ship when they started to fire. I hit my thrusters full throttle and steer to starboard bringing my engine wash around towards the Tubes exit, the heat from the thrusters started to melt portions of the docks surface and the Tubes surface structure. The security team pulls back to the far end of the Tube for cover. We are 1500 meters from the stations entrance when the Dock Master activates a Web Stasis Field from the security tower. I hit my Microwarp drive while still inside the station, blowing out bulkheads, windows, and sending smaller craft into the walls. We shoot out the entrance of the station like a bullet leaving a gun, I set course for Iges and switch on my autopilot, we warp to the Stargate with no ships in pursuit. I tuck in tight between two Bestowers and fly with them into the jump gate.

“Where are we going?”, She asks.

“I have friends who work for Nugoeihuvi Corporation in Iges, they can hide us for a while, it's in Caldari space. My hope is the Amarrian's will not involve Concord since your a slave, but I don't know. I think low sec space will be our home for a while until we know for sure that Concord is not called in.” The trip takes us 6 hours and we dock on Iges IV Station.

A week passes and and we are able to confirm through associates close to Concord that they have not been notified of the escape or the damage to the Amarr station. The incident doesn't even make the Interstellar News, but I have heard from other Indy Pilots flying through Amarr space that there is a bounty on both our heads, but that does not phase us, not in the least. We took our vows a month later and swore that nobody or nothing would ever part us.
