I dont understand why theres a limit on the number of wars you can have at one time.

I believe you should be able to have as many war declarations active as others can have against you.

At the moment we are starving for targets in empire because we are limited to 3 declarations.

I think that if we are willing to spend billions of isk per week to fun our wars then we deserve to have those wars; and artificial limits placed on war declarations is interfering with the 'players make the game' vision.

It would be nice to have this fixed, as theres no necessity for protecting large powerful forces against smaller ones the way the war limit does.

I dont really mind limits on small corporations, maybe under 100 people, but protecting the alliances like this is pampering.

can't you have infinite mutual wars?

I think its unlikely they would choose to declare the wars as mutual.

if you are "starving for targets", you could find some corps willing to have mutual wars. I'm there there are some who would be willing.

And spend your 3 non-mutual war on biggest alliances. Why aren't you at war with BoB? they have lots of people roaming in empire, I seen their unescorted freighters in Jita all the time :-)

Well, what one should know when reading this is that Privateers appears to be a group based in maintaining wars against large alliances, so that players can join and leave as they please for free attacks against empire targets (or, mostly to get blown up by those targets, from what I've seen.)

No no, you've missed the point. They want mutual wars with people who aren't going to fight back.

if someone whants to start a war they just need to pay for it, simple as that if that corp or alliance have already a war you should pay more, i like to see that the isk that is payed goos to the corp thats is under attack so they can buy some ships with it to trow into te fight Laughing

Im not going to get into an argument about the morals of war or what a particular corporation is doing as its irrelevent.

The point is EvE is a primarily non-consentual PvP game. To have to 'agree' with your enemy so you can shoot each other due to a war dec limit is odd.

The way I see it is the alliances tell us if we want 0.0 space to come and take it by force, some of us dont want it, we like empire, and we are saying, if you want empire, then you need to fight for it too.

Its a player decision, player mechanics and player work, yet we are being defeated by npc interference. Which is wrong. At 1000 - 5000 players, you dont need to rely on NPC's for protection, anymore.

Thats what I am saying in this thread.

It already scales up. If an alliance has no decs its 50 million, if it has 2 its 100 million, if it has 3, 150 million. Think it stops there.

Thats per week. Its rediculously expensive.

To be fair, I'm quite happy they did dec us. Hot and cold running twits near jita anytime I want, and if I get extra extra lucky I'll have enough points on to take down the stabberbond that ran last night Very Happy

its simply there to stop things getting silly. If you can war dec all everyone in empire, the concept of empire goes out of the window and the game becomes less attractive to newbies (imagine the increase in newbie griefing that would become possible).
If you want it from an ingame reasoning pov, the "empires" are willing to turn a blind eye to a few kick-ups here and there, however they are not willing to let you turn their empires into anarchy. So they cap you at 3. Want more? Accept that you causing more hassle than they are willing to put up with will result in them bringing CONCORD in to restore the peace.

Enjoy Wink

...and from what I hear, you're hardly "starving" for targets.

An I the only one who reads that as "We like empire because we can kill unarmed industrial types without any risk to ourselves from people who like PvP"?

What a SHOCKING thing to suggest. Everyone knows that the empire war mechanic is solely to allow for .... wait, yeah, hauler ganking.

Actually, EvE is primarily a consentual PvP game.
War-Decs and Suicide Ganks are the exception.

You can consent by:
- Travel to .04 or lower security status
- Commit a criminal act (Can thieve, Suicide Gank)
- War-Dec another corp - which is unconsentual for them Wink
- Accept a War as mutual

You can abstain by:
- Remain in 0.5 or high sec
- Don't commit criminal acts
- Don't War-Dec other corps
- Surrender War Decs
- Quit corps/Alliances that are war-dec'd

Ever tried to pursue PvP against a person/corp/alliance that doesn't want it?
It amounts to alot of frustration.

Well theres your problem isn't it you have war deced ASCN/RISE/ISS all 3 are mostly 0.0 alliances you want targets head to 0.0.

However one assumes you want to gank miners/mission runners in empire so its not protecting alliances is it! you can go find them in 0.0 but you choose not to.

You mean you want an Eve-Online I-WIN-BUTTON®

As others have said, if you want targets go to 0.0. Making war decs in empire to gank haulers that can't fight back? That's as close to PvP as mining is.

Hauler Ganking is not PVP. Stop pretending. Go out and live the 0.0 experience!

Boohoo @ people that want to run their haulers through empire on autopilot. It would be a real shame that you actually had to protect your haulers!

Had some wars against a few alliances now, so far ASCN has been fun (they fight back) and KOS has been a complete waste (they hide in stations). I wonder what alliance my alliance will war-dec now Very Happy

No, but it is fun when they drop loot. If you are flying afk through empire in a hauler when you KNOW there is an active wardec from a corp that basically is full of nubs and alts just looking to pop you - you probably deserve what you get.

0.0 experience... watch local and safespot if anyone you don't know shows up, followed by some FUN FUN FUN gate camping, follow that up with some 100v200 fleet action that crashes the node. If we get bored we can always go MINE!

I'll get right on that.

I agree with the previous poster about deccing the wrong alliances, I hardly ever see much of those alliances in empire. There are a lot better choices for more targets, both defenseless and ones that will give a fight.

I have always maintained that Eve is made to FEEL harsh without actually BEING harsh.

PVP is essentially consentual.

Find a willing target and have fun.

Or keep deccing unwilling targets, get bored and quit.

Perhaps a solution would simply be to keep scaling up the costs.

War-deccing the first corp: 1 mill per week
2nd: 2M/week
3rd: 4M/week

..and let it keep doubling. By the time you've declared war on thirty corporations, you are paying out over a thousand trillion ISK every week, so there isn't REALLY much danger of that happening. Razz

Apply the same rule to alliance-involved wars .. just keep doubling the total. That way, the only limit is financial.

Staying on topic and not taking the obvious trolling and flamebaiting.

Basically nothing else to say here but what I have already said. The alliances dont need NPC protection in this form and it should imo be changed.

If I want to war declare people then I should be allowed and if they are afraid to fight, or too lazy, or just too stupid, then they should disband.

I actually like this solution alot better then the current articial limmit... Id say triple the cost instead of doubling though, that way it starts getting really expensive from the 5th war and up
