You'd have to be more specific.

Eve as a Game, as an MMO, as an economy, as a PvP environment, as a political microcosm(SP?) and so on.

How much preparation time do you have left? And yes, I second that you contact CCP (go through Kieron or Pann). They might be able to get you some materials. At the very least a ton of trial cards I expect.

The test server will receive a new mirror in a week or so once the public testing on Kali starts up. You will have access then.

kieron and/or Pann can help you in your report. Trust me, even if only 1% of your audience decide to try EVE, its a marketing success :D.

EVE itself is a HUGE topic to report on, and I can cite right off the top of my head...

ExclamationPvP at it's core on almost every level, including actual ship-ship combat, market actions, political maneuvers, even elements of psychological warfare as well

ExclamationEVE runs on the biggest single server in the industry, supporting the biggest ever single centralized non-instanced and non-sharded world (meaning its all one big gameworld, no servers to speak of, cept of course the test server, Singularity)

ExclamationEVE is a do-what-you-want-be-what-you-can-be game. You could be a humble trader, a marketing genius, a trade/goods hauler, a battle-hardened veteran combat pilot, be the logistics support pilot behind said combat pilot, be a politician and work the player-based political atmosphere, or be the bad guy and dabble in piracy, including the ability to hold your victim down and demand a ransom or his cargo as well :P (though nowadays, they just pop you and take your killcan). Heck, why not be ALL of them at once?

ExclamationEVE's been going on for 3 years now, without any major stop in it's service, nor "hard reset" of data, not even a complete design change, because it doesnt need one. EVE is a diamond amongst lesser gems in the MMO industry. Subscriber numbers and max persistent users online at any one time keep going up and up, instead of other MMO's that often see ebbs and flows depending on their marketing.

ExclamationEVE is friendly to the hardcore gamer, and to the guy who only has an hour here or there in each week to play. You can set skills and leave the game for however long the skill will take to train and it'll be done, online or offline. That means you never stop improving, unless you yourself stop it, either intentionally or unintentionally (Embarassed forgot to set the skill before going somewhere? I do that at times too ). The only ever "grind" in the game is mostly for ingame currency, known as ISK (InterStellar Kredits, according to Prime Fiction) for standings to NPC corporations (the organization basis of EVE, instead of clans or guilds)

ExclamationAs one PR marketing guy said about EVE in an interview to Gamespy, EVE isnt a game, its a lifestyle

I think as long as he doesn't address it from a fanboi perspective, he should be fine. Its thankfully not like where, where the mere mention of a night elf causes girls to instantly label you a dork; just approach it from a neutral perspective, give a fair and balanced evaluation of it, and keep from gushing (like this ShockedVery HappyVery HappyVery HappyLaughingLaughingLaughing! to your audience), and you'll be fine.

You should be able to get loads of cap ship footage on the test server without having to fly one, there are normally quite a few in the FFA area. If you wanted something specific I'm sure people will be willing if you ask in local.

If this is your goal, one of the trailers might help you out; or, if you ask nicely, you might be able to get a vet pilot out there to show you various ships and cool things while you fraps it.

download a few of the vids from the video documentary thread, then edit the footage. There are more then enough videos already made that should cover any situation that you would want to film.

Recently did an Ad-hoc presentation in work for training.. Of course every work related subject was completely forgotten.. ended up giving it on EvE..

Needless to say.. some of the managers and other folks in work.. still give me an odd look everytime they pass me
