Tharsis Security is a small corp working out of Syndicate dedicated to PvP, primarily through 0.0 piracy and selective lowsec piracy. We were founded close to 5 months ago, and are currently interested in expanding the member base. A good example of what we are looking for is below:

Have at least 3-4m SP or have prior pirating experience <<< UPDATED
Able to fly a BS, interceptor, or assault frigate well, or be proficient in a T2 weapon specialty (preferred, but not needed) <<< UPDATED
Highly motivated, active, and interested in combat.
General self-sufficiency, either in isk or BPOs/minerals.
From the United States or Canada.
Willing to travel with a gang hunting targets most of the week.
Discipline, and a willingness to obey orders from a higher ranking member.
Accepting of a military chain-of-command structure.
Maturity, smacktalkers and dishonorable members will be booted at discretion of leadership.
You need a microphone and TS client software.

The most important thing we're looking for is attitude and a preferably T2 capability, as even if you end up not actually using the T2 ships or weapons in combat (it shows us you're specialized or in the process of doing it). However, TS and a mic, discipline, and maturity are non-negotiable. Contact me here if you're interested in more information, so get in while you can YARRRR!!.

Kill 'em all, and let God sort them out Twisted Evil.

We've even been approached by some recognized alliances as well, but we prefer to stay independent.

Recruitment continues, apparently this wave we have high standards, only one has cleared our entry requirements Cool. I fear what it'll be like once we raise the bar next time, might have to spend a few weeks to get 3 new people Wink.

edit: There has been a slight change of plans; responding to a corp meeting's results last night, we've decided to return to our piracy roots and go primarily 0.0 pirating and lowsec killing as well. Thus, the -2 restriction is now lifted, and we're going to base ourselves out of a forward base we have in Syndicate now.

A minor nudge, to a pilot and corp I respect, because I can. And because the blood splatter in the sig gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside.

But mostly because of the blood.

Hi there whats up,

Curious now that I see this post, any special expections being made for highly active players with deep roots in pvp to get in the corp even if they don't cover the recruitment restrictions:P?

Why am I asking well I'm looking to join a highly active pvp corp but fact of the
matter is im rather new to Eve and that might be an understatment but as I said
I want to join a very active corp with voice coms etc, Used to be involved in a
number of pvp mmo's used to be in ebonlore (very famous PVP EQ alliance) for about
4 years, then Karo in DaoC for 3 years and was playing Ultima Online before that..
Now all of these where ehh no carebear pvp guilds so im pretty much looking for the
same thing.

Now i can understand if you guys only recruit toons with 3mil + sp but I could
always get into a blackbird and do some ECM fleet support, unfortunatly I can't grind
in Eve to catch up (can play from work so im online lots but it doesn't really help
me). Anyway lemme know maybe we can work something out...

And yeah won't have any problems listening to orders, using voice coms or simply
working as a team been doing that for a while so it would be back to the same old
even though Eve pvp is new to me but hey im about as active as they come, so
learning shoudn't take long.

What I've told several very young players about your age is that if you have combat experience, we may bend the recruitment rules a little bit for you, but most likely no more than under 2m SP. Thing is, yes, you could fly a BB and jam people, and that'll work great for fleet ops; same deal goes for the young T1 frigate pilots wanting to join, in a group you can work together to be safe.

On occaision, you'll find yourself alone in 0.0, likely evading or fighting other players if you travel, or stuck in a system with mainly BC and BS rats around the belts that you likely will lack the firepower to kill. I don't want my corp members to be in that situation where its either a suicidal T1 frig or cruiser going to pick fights they're going to lose with the locals just because there is nothing else they're able to do in the area. Combat experience for this reason will sway my opinion a bit, if you've been out solo for a bit and gotten some crash courses in PvP, you'll have a better ability to fend for yourself and the like.

Basically, we're picky. You have to meet most of our minimum standards so that we know you have an idea of what's going on, and we don't have to spend a lot of time getting you up to speed; we like T2 specs because it helps y'all find a niche and help out a lot quicker, and there's an interview to pass which checks for proper attitude, timezone, mic/TS client, and a quick "vibe" check that we get from you. About half of our applicants don't cut it due to one of those above reasons...

Anywho, I have class in a few - drop me a line later tonight so we can talk a bit more about this if you're interested.

Right now, we have 9 members - of those atm, we have one that we haven't heard from recently because he's getting married Very Happy, and we have 2 on break atm, so 6 active.

And yes, we only recruit US or Canadian players atm, reason being as it helps us bond faster and and allows us to be active all at once.
