They put out a lot of great albums.
Even Halford's replacement on vocals wasn't that bad, when that whole shindig went down... at least on that live album "98 Live Meltdown".
"Ram It Down" & "Painkiller" were pretty bad. Actually, all studio past that point has been miserable. At least "Turbo" had a few catchy tunes, even if it was catering to poppy hair-metal fans.
"British Steel" will always be their classic album.
"Screaming For Vengeance" had several good tracks, but a few stinkers.
"Defenders Of The Faith" had a couple decent tracks... mostly so-so.
"Sin After Sin" is a good buy... a couple of bad tracks, but the rest are very solid, even if it's at a time when Priest was still finding their feet. Diamond and Rust (a cover) is still one of their fave live tunes, and they can play it a myriad of ways.
"Point Of Entry" only has one rocking track on it. Bad mojo on the rest of the songs.
"The Sad Wings Of Destiny" is their best studio album by far, in my opinion.
Edit: Stained Class & Hell Bent For Leather are also worth getting... Stained Class wonderful all the way through, and HBFT for a few classic tracks. Both rather earlier albums.
