How exactly do stations in empiere space work? When can you put them up, where can you put them up and what are you limited to putting up? Thanks!

You cannot put up an outpost in empire.

I'm not 100% on the differences between all the different flavours of POSs, but you can put a POS in empire space (up to about 0.7 or 0.3, I forget).
You need high faction standing and the correct factional starbase charters.

Each starbase charter only lasts for about half an hour, so stock up.

Actual stations where you can dock in empire are NPC owned, basicly they are run by corporations and govenments that dont actually have real players in. So you can always dock and use the services in them. The more the NPC corp likes or dislikes you changes the costs of using such NPC stations services. These stations cannot be taken over or attacked.

If you are talking about POS's (player owned stations - the ones where you cannot dock but can hide inside the force field) these are very different and there is a massive guide HERE that will make your eyes bleed from the amount of information.

The third type of station is player owned outposts, these are like NPC ststaions in empire except player corporations can own and run them, but as your not asking about those i wont go into them

so what happens if you have a station up and your charter dissapears do you loose the station? Supposedly one of the things you can do is for an empire based corp baracade empire space in such a way that only those in your corp can enter. Interested in how this is done.

As well how do you get charters? Are these only recieved as Loyalty point rewards or can they be bought or recieved some other way? Thanks for all the help.

Any info on outposts would also be welcome!

I'd like some info on that, do you have any guides or links available?

You can get charters either from the market or from agent offers.

For more information about outposts and POSs, look up the Stations, Starbases and Outposts forum, specifically this thread.

Your starbase (not station, because you can't dock with it) goes offline.

and anyone can blow it up man...seems somewhat worthless then to put one up in empire space. Is there really any reason to do so...?
