When trainig a skill which give s a 5% reduction to capacitor need per level

eg. Weapon Disruption Rank "5% less capacitor need for weapon disruptors per skill level."

Does this mean that it requires 5% less Powergrid to fit it, or that it will burn less cap per cycle when i activate it?

I'm trying to set up a ship and cant fit everything on it that i should be able to (Vampire Abritrator setup, i should be able to fit multiple NOS on it)... and wonder if theres any point in training said skills, or just pushing for Engineering V

Less cap pr cycle.

There are skills that reduce the pg need of some mods, but iirc it's "only" shield upgrades (shield extenders) and advanced weapons upgrades (guns/launchers) that does that.

The key word in the skill description is "capacitor". Skills that reduce power grid need to fit the mod will say so. Since that skill said capacitor....it will reduce capacitor drain when you use the mod....but doesn't impact the fitting of it at all.
