Alright, I have a destroyer and I have recently been working on kill missions (Up to this point I have been mining and just killing rats in belts). I have decided that at some point I need to get some faction up and do some lvl 2 agent missions. I have been working on Minmatar republic fleet missions (I prefer kill missions) and with a destroyer and almost all rank 4/5 gunnery skills I litterly kill all rats in one or two shots doing the lvl 1 missions. Im not complaining... its just boring after a few hours. I noticed I can take a higher quality agent in 0.3 sec space... so here is my question:

Will I be able to even play in 0.3 space? Im a decently intelligent player and I know how to use a warp drive... im getting mixed reviews of 0.3 space... its either the devils playground where all ships instantly explode upon entry or a not so bad place if you play smart and check your map before jumps and pay attention to local. Also, will the rats even be harder for a higher quality agent in 0.3 space? Hes still only a lvl 1... I just want sooooome challenge and I dont wanna go and kill 5 drones again with 1 hp each haha. Thanks for reading this :)

I say go for it. It's not as bad as some may advertise. Just keep your eyes peeled. Make your instas and safespots. Know local. And accept loss as simply a part of the game. Oh, and have fun!

Low sec space isn't that much of a big deal.

Stay out of chokepoints, use the map, don't fly what you can't afford to lose, and be careful!

What you are experiencing is the minor version of "fear of the unknown" - "edginess of the unknown". By all means, be edgy. But let me tell you this:

I have left the game and come back once, and it reminded me of the first time I came into lowsec. I watched the screen intently, worried that at any second someone would come blow me out of the sky...but no one did. It's not that there isn't any risk; it's just that because you've never been in that risk, it feels a lot greater than it is. I now fly around lowsec nearly carelessly (probably shouldn't) and only check the scanner for victims...well, at some gates I check for enemies. Also depends what I'm flying/carrying.

So to wrap that all into one nice little tortilla...your nerves are good for you, but don't let them keep you out of low sec. You can survive.

Just one piece of advice... Like they say, don't fly what you can't afford to lose. But it might be better to make sure you CAN afford to lose it BEFORE going to great unknown. That means, have another ship of same quality or better with reasonable equipment before going in. Or better equipment.

That way should you be blown up you have that another ship you can use to get cash in empire and it's not instant kick to weaker frigates. (or whatever else you have in stock)

There's probably more level 2 agents for you that aren't in low sec. However if you want to take a peek in low sec here's a few reminders;

- make sure your clone is updated and at the right station.
- expect to loose your ship and your pod
- go in a shuttle first and make all the insta bookmarks for the gates and stations you'll use.
- trust no one, not even that guy with +3.6 standing
- don't wait for people to prove to you they have evil intentions, if someone comes into your belt/station they should either turn around/dock right away. If they don't you should turn around/dock right away.
- check everyone's info that is in the system or enters it. If he has a dumb name, expect him to shoot people, if he has a OLOLOLZZYARRRWTFBBQ bio or corp, expect him to shoot people. if he has a negative standing expect him to shoot people. The others, espect them to shoot you as well, but you might be lucky.
- that 'little Rifter' will tear you apart in a few seconds
- don't go afk
- expect to loose your ship and your pod
- make sure that the ship you'll be bringing into low sec is insured properly
- make sure that your ship doesn't have any high value modules
- make sure that, if needed, you could by at least 3 of those ships, including modules and even then it wouldn't really set you back cashwise
- before you go in, check the map on 'destroyed ships in the last hour' and 'podkills in the last hour'. If there are some, you will probably be next

Low sec isn't boogieman land, it's just like a minefield. If you know one is there, don't be dumb and ignore that little fact, be careful, plan your route and moves and you'll be fine.

Awesome, thanks for all the info guys. I ventured out into 0.3 and 0.4 and it was great. I love the bounties out there... and the fights are much more exciting. People are also more talkative because everyone is fixed on local so I met some cool folks too. I definitly didnt take many risks though... I was like a scared mouse, every time I saw a living thing I warped to a safe location and checked their bio and corp and still ended up fleeing regaurdless. Being overly cautious was part of the fun and excitment though haha.
