NPC trading just got a major nerf last week so I'd stick to the other facets of trade for a month or two until it gets sorted out.

Actually, the total amount of ISK available through NPC trading is the same as before.

What got nerfed is using downtime to take all the ISK available at once. This means that if you're not around at downtime, it gets easier to trade than before.

So is this like being a traveling salesman. Buying in one area and moving it to another to sell it. Is there a list of "best sellers" or does it come with experince what sells and what doesn't?

I see the market tracker for prices but is that for the whole game area or just my local area. I am still trying to figure out how to read it correctly.

thanks

Basically that's it. There are different ways to operate though, so it's not all about finding a good trade on the spot. After a while trading you'll figure out where the NPC's buy orders bottom out, and where their sell orders top out.

The in-game market screen only shows your current region. There are out of game websites that show EVE-wide averages and cross region trades.

hi kersa,

More new traders in eve, excellent. The market is most fun. The guides indicated above are all great and worth absorbing. However you can't beat hands on experience, set aside a small fund (say 10% of your money) and write it off as a loss. Then just play around with this money on the markets, see what works and what doesn't. Don't be afraid try new things or trading your own way.

It's not all seeing 20 tons of garbage for a few isk, hauling them 20 jumps and selling for a bit more. Pretty much anything in Eve can go through the market. Then there is the whole direct sales thing and actually talking to people.

I'm trying to encourage new trader's to visit the "Trader's Academy" channel in game (vested interest, admitted) and there's always the friendly trader's lounge

Good luck and have fun.

Jade

Just don't haul 50 million ISK worth of cargo in an untanked 800K ISK ship, else some of us will be really hopeful to meet you. YARRRR!!

Very Happy
