Announcement on behalf of Takumi Vetinari - CEO PIE Inc.

"PIE Inc wishes to express its sorrow at the sad loss of Emperor Heideran VII. He was a great man and a great Emperor - a true figurehead of the Amarr Empire. He will be sorely missed by many.

To show our respect for the Emperor's passing we are observing a ritual week of mourning. We have therefore temporarily suspended operations against Minmatar insurgents. Our honourable enemy Oracle Corp has kindly agreed to a weeks ceasefire from the time of the Emperor's death.

I would also like to take this opportunity to restate PIE Inc's position in relation to the succession...

As a corporation we have NO affiliations with any of the Royal Houses of Amarr. Our loyalty lies with the institution and tradition of Empire and not with any particular house.

We exist to serve the Emperor and Empire with loyalty and impartiality and this service applies equally to whoever sits on the throne.

When, in the fullness of time, Emperor Heideran VII is replaced we will serve the new Emperor with the same loyalty and vigour as we have displayed in our battles with Minmatar terrorists.

Following our week of mourning we shall resume operations against Minmatar meddlers in our effort to protect Amarr beliefs and traditions from outside interference.

We hope that succession will be swift and painless and that shortly Amarr everywhere can enjoy the guidance and wisdom of a new Emperor."

Well Hardin, i hope you are prepared fot he onslaught if The Sarum Family gets the throne.

Even as noble you are, and you do show honour in combat, its hard for me to see you taking side with that Family...

They will, if they get the chance throw this whole quadrant into war..

So be blind and follow the Empire, it will lead to your destruction..

Everything that PIE has shown in honour and loyalty, are not qualities that the Sarum family posseses..

So be carefull, the next Emperor, may spell the annihilation of your empire.

So Say i

In the whispers of time long ago, there were empires that took it's own people and carved out a still beating heart to offer to thier god.

Over time, this tradition was ended by those that thought rather than act blindly. I ask the same thought of the Amarr people. Do not follow a way of life simply because it is tradition. Innovation and progression come from thought and change, not from holding on to traditions simply because that's the way it's always been done.

To my noble advisaries, I ask this. Should not your duty be to the people of the Amarr Empire? Would you blindly follow who ever becomes emperor even if it means the slaughter of many innocents? Do you not have a free will and consience to guide you?

I love my people. I would give my life in support of the Minmatar Republic, but if I were to follow my duty as you state, there would be no Oracle. Thousands of people would still be slaves and I would be an instructor in a university.

There comes a time when each of us must stop following blindly and question the path we follow. Is that path ahead truely one you are comfortable with, or is another more suitable for your travels.

Perhaps these whispers neglected to include the fact that they were forced to stop, by equally (or more) barbaric outsiders, motivated primarily by greed..

We do not hold onto our traditions because "that's the way it's always been" We hold onto them because they are what separate us from the barbarians, they are what makes us Amarr. Perhaps this is too complicated a matter to explain to beasts of burden such as yourselves..

You must return to us that we may assist you on your path to enlightenment. Every second you spend fighting your destiny is a second that could be spent improving yourselves in servitude to the Amarr Empire..

A few 'hypothetical' questions for PIE, without trying to be *ahem* impertinent.

Considering the schism in current Amarrian politics in general, the apparent youth of your Sarum candidate, and the historical example of Khanid some 300 years ago -

Do you think Sarum will go willingly to her death if she fails to ascend to the throne, as each of the family heads, 'Privy Council' are supposed to? I know she's supposed to be some kind of 'traditionalist', but considering that she believes the Empire seems to be headed in the wrong direction, the succession of another 'moderate' candidate to the throne would seem almost intolerable to her.

I'd also be interested to know if PIE would be used to help 'secure' the state against any possible divide Sarum might create if she loses, or whether they'd remain focussed on outside issues, namely their ongoing (open) 'secret' war against Oracle.

*smiles* Sorry - just meaning the war between Oracle and PIE shouldn't be thought as an official state of war between our two Empires.

Not exactly sure what the 'official' state between your two ... factions? (Corporations doesn't seem an adequate description, and as neither of you is strictly profit motivated, it could hardly be called a Trade War?)...would be called, even though both Concord and the empires controlling the territory in which its waged sanction your ongoing hostilities by standing by the sidelines.
