This app is seriously brilliant, had a few errors with the program which I think is due to me accidentally setting two skills to train at once, which caused the program to die and I had to redownload it and reset my skills Sad. It may have been language version problems though as it worked fine after I set it to english before reinstalling (was some /lang/ stuff in the error message).

Anyways, if you had a donate link, I would seriously have thrown some money after you Surprised.

Remember that the Web API will change with Revelations 2 so now we can fetch the data without putting our login information to the phone itself.

The next version will use the new API, because that will be available before V2 is ready, it'll be the only way.

Updating/loading the skill tree from the server (Generic Data) will also be included, so no more "wrong requirements" Smile

When I find the time, I'll also add support for things like the account information, wallet and transaction logs. So you'll be able to check that one the move too.

I just really hope the alarm thingy works in my phone. Razz

I'll be using the PIM API (JSR 75) to create events and/or TODOs.

It looks like one hell of a sweet application ... just having to enter all stuff manually is a bit of a bore. Confused
Also, if I'm using v1.2.16 am I using the most recent version? That's the one linked in the direct install link from first post...

Quick update on the development.

The current development state supports:

  • Multiple accounts

  • Loading the characters via new XML API

  • Loading training via new XML API

  • Loading character image

  • Shows list of all characters, their training skills and completion times, and if another char on the account is training already

TODO (before I let you all have a go)

  • Add character editor (implants,etc)

  • Skills browser

  • Allow adding of characters manually

  • Manual skill switching

This is total ALPHA code, so play with it and use at your own risk.

My T-Mobile Dash won't run it at all. Just exits immediately. It's using Esmertec Java.

Any chance we can get a version that will run on this?

Link doesn't work, I'm guessing that's due to Chribba's policy about allowed file extensions.

Apologies if this has been dealt with in this long thread.

Is this usable in Blackberry's? If so how has it been installed?

This maybe a silly question that was answered a few pages back, but I'm kind of a bit curious as to why this particular app needs the full API key entered.

Thanks

I've been working on some java to do a simple check of the status of skills in training. It's using SAX parse the XML files and a simple call to retriece the XML file.

I'm not a coder by trade and I need some assistance to point me in the right direction on how to develop a GUI to display the info on a java capable mobile phone.

Anyone please?

I just wanted to let anyone else who had the same problem as me know how to get this to run. I have the new sprint ppc 6800 "mogul" which is running windows mobile 6. Apparently the java they are using is a garbage third party version and would simply exit if I attempted to run the midlet or near any java other then the official downloads. I installed a windows mobile emulator for java and now the skill planner is working great. You can find the cab file for the ibm javaME emulator here.

By the way, thanks for the skill program its amazing Jaabaa. I'm very happy I finally got it to run.

Installing this on my BlackBerry 8703e I get the following error:

Error starting SkillsME: Module 'SkillsME' must be signed with the RIM Runtime Code Signing Key (RRT).

Any ideas?

Thank you.

So has anyone tried this with the PSP? I take mine to work and I'm pretty sure my phone can't handle this nice little app. Good stuff Jaaba... I'm glad I ran across this...I was heavily thinking about putting my limited skills to the test and trying to get something similar to this working for my psp. I'll definitely have to check this out when I get home.
