Amarr > Matari, imho i see alot more matari pilots than Amarr, but Amarr recieve the nerf bat the least for one.

Second there turret tracking is amazing, Hacs are better imho sacrilege nos setup is still viable and the zealot well just ask Hann's.

BS wise amarr have both there bs's good in pvp and pve matari pilots i generally stick with the pest, phoon just aint that great.

Amarr are Lasers and Armour tanking, Matari are Projectiles, shield, armour, missles and god knows how many other fields that need spec in.

Matari generally are more versatile, but ive not met many that utilize it.

1. One day you will want to fly an Apoc!

Never even crossed my mind, but then again, I've never shot a lazer.

I dunno, I specialize matari but I also fly amarr, and caldari, and gallente. I find Amarr to have some amazing ships such as the prophecy. The amarr are truely SP efficient. Hell, I have a power of 2 account that is a week old and can fly a prophecy, shoot medium lasers, and is 4 days from an armageddon. Now, ofc... another month to shore it up... but its very SP efficient. Khani...erm...Amarr 4tw.

Anyway, you didn't want to fly the typhoon anyway... I'd have to bonk you on teh head and steal it.

Amarr. We at least finish building our ships before sending them off into space.
Minmatar ships are held together by rust, chewing gum and wishful thinking.

As a new char, get Amarr.

For making isk, doing missions etc the first 2-4 months Amarr ships will be the better payoff.

For Minmatar, you will require a lot more skillpoints to come into your own, but when you do its worth it.

No harm in having an Apoc if you are a carebear and need to mine.

True, the Megatrons are the most seeing this days in 0 space. I only fly Amarr ships but I have to say that the Apocs are a bit rare to be seen ... at least in the region where I live (Deklein, PB)

Studies show that 'Real men' prefer the manly Thump of howitzers over the girly 'pew pew' of lasers.

These studies are correct.

fyi, studies also show matar are in fact 4tehW1n.
It doesn't stop there, recent polling shows 98% of women confirm Minmatars do it better

Actually - you should go Gallente.

Awesome ships for pvp, almost as good as the Amarr for pve and in some cases better. Most of the T2 Gallente ships are good, as opposed to Amarr or Matari, where 1/2 the T2 ships are good, the other half complete crap.

Also, both Gallente and Caldari utilize rails which means that by training Gallente you are concurrently training Caldari weapons as well and makes it easier to pick up a 2nd races ships if you so desire.

In addition, Gallente have the Carrier Nyx, which would be the most ultimate, super, uber ship to fly if your character's name is Nyxus. Unfortunately if your char's name is Nyxus you are Amarr BS specialized and now have to train Gallente BS to lvl 5 as well ffs.
