If someone can link me a good tutorial to sensor jamming i'd be grateful.
If such a tutorial still doesn't exist please explain me how jamming works.

Suppose i'm driving a ship with a 15 sensor strenght (Ladar type, for example).
Someone tries to jam me with a Ladar Jammer, 7 strenght.

Is there a chance that i will be jammed? How this chance is calculated? And if i do get jammed, what are the consequences?
I will be unable to lock targets at any distance or my lock distance will just be reduced?

Suppose now that my ship has a 5 sensor strenght and i get jammed by a 7 strenght jammer. Same questions as before, what happens?

And one last question...
How does stack jammers works? If i have a couple of 7 points jammer do they jam like a 14 points jammer?

Thanks!

each jammer works as a separate module.

the chance of jamming is (jammer strength)/(target sensor strangth)

so - in your ship, you would have a 7/15 chance of getting jammed - bit under 50%...
the other example, you would 100% be jammed.

when jammed, you loose all targets, and cannot lock anything at all.

Understood.

Is jamming duration indefinite?
If i get jammed what can i do?

Jamming lasts as long as the module's activation time does. It has to rejam every time it is activated. So if an ECM mods lasts for 5 seconds, you are jammed for that time. At the end of 5 seconds, the module reactivates and attempts to jam you again.

You can't do anything while jammed unless you have an ECCM mod that you can activate to try to break the jamming. The best you can do is try to reacquire a target in the hope that the next attempt to jam you fails.

I dunno understand...
A BS has more then 20 sensor strenght points...
How on earth would i ever jam it unless i use more then one module?
But, according to what you say, ECM modules do not stack...
So what?

A race specific jammer has maybe strenght 8 with skills (no ship bonuese). That's 40% chance to jam with 1 ecm mod. Add relocktime etc to that and you will have cut the enemy damage by at least 50%. That's not good enough for you?

Now while ecm don't stack right ontop of each other increasing strenght that doesn't mean that that you can't use more than 1 mod. Each mod has 40% chance to jam but only one needs to be successfull to jam the target so compound probability ends up with 64% jam chance for 2 mods etc.
