Does drone navigation skill only kick in when drones are in flight to target or does it also apply when they are orbiting?

If it applies to all should it be avoided since it can cause drones tracking problems?

Since one can't unlearn skills it is kind of a risky thing to actualy get the skills and then test.

I maybe wrong but drones are now heavier so training this skill speeds them back up to how they were pre-RMR.

But like I said, I could be wrong.

I don't see a problem with this new skill though tbh drones tend to do their own thing most of the time anyway.

After training this skill 1-2 levels I still don't any change under 'Show Info' for my fitted drones. Might just be a bug though. Rolling Eyes

Yea it seems they won't sort that out till later, so any skills you may have won't show a change in drone info.

Not sure 'when' they will fix it though.

Right, but the problem is that drone tracking has changed in the patch, and there is no skill to improve tracking. So if this skill increases their orbit speed it could be decreasing their damage (especuially in the case of Heavy Drones).

sharp shooter seemed to help drones hit better. atleast on sisi when i trained it to level 5 got lot of comments on it.

If it's orbit speed it will most definitely hurt more than help. Until someone confirms wether it effects orbit speed or not (just approach speed) I'm not touching that skill.

On the other hand the optimal one is real sweet trade.

I'd guess drone sharpshooting skill offsets possible lack of accuracy from higher orbit speed... meaning with both you have your drones getting faster to target and orbit farther away from smartbomb range, while hitting about as good as they did.

Traning sharpshooter alone to increase optimal might be nice too, but then note it results in drones moving with less transversal speed (due to being farther away) and becoming easier to hit by ship attacked by them. o.O;

As for drone stats not updating with skills, they never have anyways. I have tried every possible combination of ways to read the stats for my drones, but I find that there is no way to see how your skills affect them other than by doing the calculations yourself.

pssst...don't tell them the trackingspeed is 100 times better than intended ;)

(or is it just a display-bug??)
