So while we wait for the new hardware, we will update 1-2 computers in the cluster to Windows 2003 per day.

Windows? Well, guess we´re gonna have a lot of server crashes ahead! Laughing

My Server 2003 boxes are more stable than my Linux (RHEL 3) boxes, go figure Laughing

tis because you are using RHES... try debian or even better... roll your own gentoo box ( never mind if your RHES is unstable its probably how it's managed. )

Windows 2003 is a very good (imo) Server product,

Windows XP is something you play games on.

We have also been testing Windows 2003 on the current hardware and that gives us a performance boost aswell. So while we wait for the new hardware, we will update 1-2 computers in the cluster to Windows 2003 per day.

I sent CCP Corporate some info. on quickshiftquickshift which might make a significant impact on your SQL performance unless you're using AMD processors on the SQL box. Anyway the info. might not have filtered through to dev... if you want an eval, perhaps to run on the test server, let me know.

Totally true. Do any of you Linux rar-rar [>deleted>] actually visit many corporates that run data bases? There's a hell of a lot of stable SQL deployments out there and using decent systems management tools to complement them you can get rock solid four nines reliability.. plus the clustering works VERY well.
