Not all HAC's r supposed to be able to kill another hac.

Soem HAC's specialize in beeing anti-something.

And it also much comes down to setups.

Tho CCP needs to implement the "all type of dmg" to all races.

Deimos should be able to take a close range vaga unless the vaga pilot is very good or has fitted a jammer

Ishtar will munch a vaga for lunch quite easily

Cerberus has the advantage of damage type, but its DPS doth blow

Eagle, meh vaga will warp off

Zealot wont cos of vaga resists

Suckriledge has a chance but it'll take a while

Close range muninn probably will

Dual web + nos + plate rax might. Keep him at 9-10km and a close range vaga will struggle to do any meaningful dmg

Vagabond is a good ship, being both fast + agile, but it is pretty weak in the defense department. Hit it with Kinetic or Explosive dmg and it does kind of roll over and die quite fast

simple answer: another vaga :).

Amarr ships can barely damage it (due to the vaga having high EM and thermal resists, which is what amarr guns do), gallente ships can only do serious harm with when they switch to kinetic or web+nos it (which a good vagapilot won't let you in range to do), caldari hacs just suck ;), leaving minmatar ones.

The main racial minmatar damage is explosive (amarr is EM, caldari is kinetic and gallente is thermal in case you were wondering), and the vaga's lowest resistances are explosive and kinetic. Now look here and here to see what projectile ammo does to a minny ship :)

a zealot CAN kill a vagabond, it just needs to have 5-6 dmg mods with Heavy pulse and start at like 20-30km.

Cerberus with 5 T2 heavy launchers and scourge missiles will kill a vaga fast.

Deimos with blasters will killa vaga fast.

Ishtar with 15 wasps will kill a vaga fast.

Scorp will both make a vaga impotent and kill it fast.

Raven can do the same as a scorp.

If you can do Kin damage, you can kill a vaga. If your amarr just fit WCS and fun cause your about as likely to get through that 92.5% EM resist as you are winning The Little Miss America Beauty competition.

I would go with what Grut said. Minmatar has weak sensor strengths. Vagabond is only 14 so fitting out a ship that has about 4 medium slots with 2 named racial minmatar jammers would be sufficiant enough to putting down a vagabond. I wouldn't go that route unless you trained ECM up some.

Caldari ships would be ideal ship to do this tactic with being they have good medium slots. Something like the Blackbird really wouldn't be a good idea. It just wouldn't have the damage output incase that vaga could tank. I think something like the MOA could have enough juice and medium slots to do it. As well the Ferox/Cyclone with the right choice of weaponry.

Another good choice could be the Exequror with it's 4 guns and 80m3 drone bay. It also has 4 medium slots and could be sufficiant enough to handle the job.

800 mms dual heavy nos, 1 targetpainter 2x webber 2x sensor boosters, usual damage mods across lows and the vaga dies. Also its really really funny when you see a vaga try and kill a supposed railthron thats actually a blasterthron(who had large blaster spec 5) :P

too vague a question realy, but you have to know what the vaga is capable of in order to fit agaisnt it,
awesome em and thermal resists, amazing speed even with an ab fitted, hard hitting guns that have great falloff,
if you can counter that then you have a good chance, choice of ship is mostly irrelevent, but the fittings become all important, even with a vague idea you can never be 100% certain how the said vaga is fitted itself, could be armor tanked or sheild tanked, it could have a dual web in order to keep you blaster ships out of range, it could run ecm itslef or a pure gank setup.
take a guess and give it a go, you cant win em all, Cool

I like my vaga alot, but it definitely has weakneses. Deimos is probably not the best way to kill it, well at least I have never really had much trouble with deimoses. What really scares me is ECM ishtar, and I definitely go after those from 15k orbit, not a meter closer. NOS as such hurts other HAS more than vaga really, but it can be anoyign at times. To kill it solo I'd suggest a really close range battleship with dual web. Does the job amazingly well. Whatver you do don't try and tank it (unless the other guy has a WCS setup), as only things that come close to tanking it are dual rep apoc, and sacri. Nothign else stands a chance of maintaining anythign sustainable vs the vaga. In a reasonably gank fitted scenario you have about 400+ DOT with vaga, while maintainign better short duration defences than deimos, and not to mention 15k faloff is pretty amazing. While there is no ship I wouldn't at least try to take on 1v1, I do fear close range BS the most. If you're no in that 500 orbit really fast, you're very dead.
The greatest strength of the vaga is however not so much in fight (although it rocks for that), btu in your ability to actually choose the fight. The ship handles amazignly and reaches speeds in line with t1 frigs. If you plan to kill it make sure you can a: actually hold it there (and no I'm not talking ***** WCS setups, just regular decent flying), and b: have some pretty good damage with decent tracking, while being able to maintain a decent defence, preferably with sheer amount of hitpoints to actual reping power, as fights will generally be short.
