You know the energy drainers, such as the nosferatu and such. I noticed something the other day about the stats.

The basic npc store bought drainer has 10 cap drained and an activation time of ~40 secs (not sure about time exactly). As if that was not bad enough, I was checking out a few loot drop ones. One for instance had the same 10 cap drain, but the activation time was even longer than the basic version, with a slightly longer range. Then I noticed the next one had 11 cap drain, even longer range, and a longer activation time??? I'm assuming like most loot if it has longer range or higher stats it is supposed to be a better version, but I don't see how increasing the activation time on a cap drainer is making it better.

Am I totally missing out on how these work? I can A: drain 10 cap in 40 seconds or B: drain 11 cap in 50 seconds.... wtf

Do cap drainers do something like drain 10 cap per second? This seems like the only way the activation time could be better if it is increasing. I have not personally tested these is why I am asking.

Nobody has figured out the bizare and obscure mind that devised the energy drainers.

To all intents and purposes they look totally useless.

To my knowledge nobody has devised a means for them to be used efficiently on a ship loadout.

the energy drainers arent the nosforatu's , those are the ones with the cruddy stats that say adds to your own.

the energy neutralizers have a fast cycle time, and are nice :)

He's talking about the "vampires" - suck their cap add it too your own.

Not the energy neutralisers (use your own cap to neutralise theirs).

And, afaik and as stated, nobody has found a good way to use the vamps with their current stats.

nosferatu's are pointless at the moment, they need to recycle MUCH faster to be of any use, either that or drain a damn bigger amount...something akin to cap booster med slot items would be alright

10 cap drained per 45 seconds is lame. You charge more then 10 cap in 45 seconds, your enemy charges more then 10 cap in 45 seconds, its just a waste of a slot. Evil or Very Mad

The only setup i think these would work with, is a moa,with two in the missle slots, and 4 modal electrons (optimal range 1 km), its better than wasting the two hi-slots if you don't have missle skills.
