I have played for a little while now and have heard rumors of hidden asteroid belts that dont show up with the regular system belts.
Can anyone verify if these rumors are true? If not, then how would one go about locating them? Or even have an idea if one exists in a particular system?

I've also heard of hidden complexes, I'm guessing they are located in the same manner. Can anyone provide any useful information on how to located one of these?

Thank you

You usually spot hidden belts on the warpin ... their about 1000-2000km away from the original belt. However ive seen some very bugged belts where the grid drops off 3-4 places in 1 belt and each subgrid has its own belt.

The way I detect them is the following,
1. Set your overview settings to only pick up high-end roids, Bistot/Crok/Spod, etc.
2. Warp in to the belt from various points, Gates, Planets, whatever. Try and warp out from a point to warp into the belt from a south/north/east/west position (think x axis only) Like a "+"
3. Before you reach the belt there may or may not be a very short 1-2 second glitch where something shows on your overview, before you enter the belt. Kind of like when you see people "warp" through you between mid-warps, or warping through a abandon shuttle between two gates. Know what I mean?
4. If you see that then just turn your ship from where you came out of warp from and MWD towards that direction. Soon as you get off-grid, you'll see the other roids on your overview thus discovering the off-grid belt. They aren't hidden, just designed poorly and spawned outside of the huge grids that reside in 0.0 space.

The above is more complicated than necessary.

1)Go to a belt
2)Scan for high end roids within, say, 2000km
3)Generally, any asteroids showing with a distance of "-" are out of the main belt and thus 'hidden'.
4)Using the scanner, narrow the direction down to about 30 degrees.
5)Set your fastest ship off in that direction

Once the 'roid is within 400km of you it should show on the scanner and you can simply approach or bm or commence mining ugh

do you only get hidden belts in low sec - 0.0? or do you find them in 0.5-1.0 ?

They seem much more common in 0.0.

My experiance is that belts get smaller as the sec rating goes up. Belts in 0.3 are large enough that you can use your warp drive to get from one end to the other (longer than 150km) whereas empire belts don't seem to really exceed 50km end to end. Bigger belt is more roids, so I would suspect it has a greater chance of erronous spawning.
