About a month and a half ago I discovered the potential uses for a POS Tracking Array. I discussed them in various chats and through mails. I researched their effects, usage and did a lot of work on 'best setups'.

I then proceeded to spend a LOT of isk in the aquisition of these arrays. The arrays took time to haul, time to set up, and I even purchased BPO's that - based on my research - would afford my POS the best bang for the buck when defending themselves against possible attacks by Dreads in the future.

That is how I play the game. I research. I plan ahead. I take a lot of time to make decisions about what to purchase and how to deploy.

Then CCP steps in.

Suddenly the hundreds of millions of isk in arrays, BP's and defensive guns; as well as countless hours of discussion, math and accounting, have been rendered useless.

In one sweep of a patch the effectiveness of the POS Tracking Array has been reduced by 99 percent.

For those that do not own POS's, who probably dont care about this issue, imagine if your ship suddenly had a 99 percent drop in effectiveness. Contemplate what it would be like to lose 99 percent of your weapon range.

Making changes to the game is just part of it, I understand this. But hammering an item into uselessness is uncalled for. If CCP feels it is necessary, for whatever reason, to deplete the usefulness of the POS Tracking Array this much, then there should have been notices sent to those of us who were buying them in mass quantities to let us know that we were wasting our isk, and our time.

POS operations are a balance of production, sales, hauling, contracts and defenses. Wreck any of those and POS operations can be heavily damaged.

My guess is that some PvP goon cried to a dev saying "No fair, now the POS's can hit us at our rediculous range capabilities and actually do some damage; so we wont be able to sit safely outside the gun range and gank the POS.. boo hoo!"

It seems to me that when a PvP or pirate charactor cries, CCP lends an ear. Though for those of us who have taken over half a year to work with, and implement the POS's within the game, it's always 'sorry, we cant help you' when something goes wrong and 'too bad so sad' when things get nerfed.

The list of problems that have been around and accumulating since Exodus hit, with POS's, is extensive. CCP doesn't seem to care at all. Instead of fixing the things that have been broken for months - they ruin things that many players have spent massive isk and massive time setting up.

Tower bonuses.. you know, the stuff a tower is supposed to 'do better' because of the particular race it is? Are still non functional. Skills that have been in game for half a year still dont work. Exploits that some POS owners can take advantage of, while others cannot, in order to gain a market edge on their compeition - have been apparantly ignored entirely.

Every time a POS owner takes a step forward, CCP shoves them three steps back.

So, my answer to CCP's latest "How are we doing?" mail.. asking me to give them feedback on exactly what I think of their service and their responsiveness to problems.

They dont get my money any more.

yeah.. bye scumbag have a nice day

Why is it that when someone has a legitimate gripe there's always some wannabee 'I'm a big bad pilot' geek that feels they need to stroll in immediatly and cry 'noob'.

Ah.. ok.. so I've only played for 8 months.. guess I'm a noob. Ah, ok, I'm not living in my grandmother's basement whackin it to granny **** like you do while you afk haul your shiny new T2 weapon into safespace with your alt charactor cuz you're too scared to move it with your real one.

Oh yeah.. guess I'm one of those 'carebears' that provides 100 percent of the materials that went to make your precious little T2 ship that you'll end up using to gank another carebear in ES cuz you dont have the capability to fight in 0.0.

Or am I assuming too much?

Yeah l noticed they were completely screwed now. 5% and 10%... oh come on that's not even worth the anchoring time. Slight over-correction from CCP. Not worth quitting over though.

guys like you who call people Noobs for stating a fact are either like 10 years old or just plain stupid... his argument is justified and ALL arguments should be discussed about the game we all love.

Basically he put alot of time/effort into a project and it went **** up.

so if u have nothing positive to say STFU.

Your assuming to much, never have I used an alt, and I live in 0.0.

You whining because you messed up on a bet or an "investment" is just wrong. Nobody wants to hear it...

Now if people care..once upon a time I thought modulated mega pulse were gonna drop in price after they got nerfed so I bought a ton of modulated beams for 12M a piece and pawned them for over 20M+. Sometimes you win, sometime you loose, people dont need to hear about it.

I am very sorry to hear. Can you not tweak your arrangement and stay in the game? Eve would obviously lose a very good play otherwise

Regardless of whether people care or not, that's got nothing whatsoever to do with his argument. Can we stick to the topic at hand, please?

Coming from you I would have expected nothing better. Rolling Eyes

To the original poster I feel your pain. Through it's actions CCP has clearly shown that they do cater to the most vocal group(pirates).

Oh, well. I can't believe I just put myself up for another 3 months of this BS. Rolling Eyes

I believe 1000% and 500% are the numbers for 10% and 5% merely using the way they display raw data internally and not properly converted to the display format they use for us (Backed up by Signature focusing skill showing 500% in its attributes but only ever effecting the module in question by 5%, till they also fixed that display).
In short I don't believe they were ever 1000% and 500%, and when seeing the stats for the first time I certainly never believed that they were intended to be 1000% and 500% for one second, since that is a blatently insane module effect.

When I first started EvE it was about a week before Exodus. I got into a corp that had vision for the future. That vision was POS operations.

I took that vision to heart and EVERYTHING I've ever done in Eve has been POS related. Every skill (even the one's that still dont work, thanks ccp), every ship, every isk I spend is somehow toward the advancement of the corp POS operations.

I've dealt with every problem, every glitch, every loss and found logistical workarounds every time CCP has thrown another wrench into the POS engines.

This latest patch was no more than other INSULT to the POS owners in the game.

"We're going to lower your fuels by 10 percent so you'll finally be able to make a profit". LIES.
They lowered 1 fuel by 10 percent.. isotopes. The rest they either stayed the same (no biggie actually) or they INCREASED the usage. Medium/Small towers now use more of the industrial related fuels than they did before the patch.. sorry, that is NOT a decrease in fuels.

Oh, but they gave us increases in production.. and "We will lower the M3 of your products so you wont have to do as much additional hauling". LIES. Most products, except for the low end carbides, did not change at all.

"We'll fix those skills that you spent so much time training". More LIES.

"We'll get your tower bonuses that you PAID FOR when you bought your tower working for you". More LIES.

Heck, this latest patch they even nerfed the production tab in the management console. Try doing a ferrogel reaction.. putting the correct 'output' of a silo to the correct 'input' of the reactor no longer registers as 'correct' by lighting the icons. It's all hit and miss til you get it right. Why did they have to nerf that?

And how about the shield passwords.. Ok, so now when we put it in we get to read a 'half truth'.. it says something like 'the password will be reset if you log off or downtime happens'. What they dont bother to tell you is that it will also reset if you dock, leave the system, or get stuck in a lag bubble while warping to your POS.

Months of time, hundreds of hours and billions of isk have been invested into the POS industry by myself and my corp. Now we get nothing but lies, half truths and outright smacked by the nerfs to our setups and arrays.

There was no warning. There is no reason for it. It is a blatant slap in the face to those who have spent countless hours working on these things.

For those who dont have POS's I have a suggestion for you - avoid them like the black plague. If you finally do manage to start making a decent multi-tiered profit through them, CCP will probably notice and get jealous that you managed to work around their well designed roadblocks to success, and nerf them even more.
