The following URL links to a post made by a BSC player on our forums. f=3 t=176

He was also advised to petition and email this to CCP, but this is placed here for the general populace to check and make note.

For those to lazy to click on the URL, the post reads...

"Dear guys I don't want to alarm anybody but keep a very close eye on your credit cards.
I have just had my credit card suspended due to somebody getting hold of my card details and going on a shopping spree.
I had to speak to speak to somebody in VISA fraud department. Apparently a load of shopping was done in Canada and Iceland to the sum of a few thousand quid.
All I could get out of VISA was that it was possible that the details were most likely stolen off the internet and the only thing I had used my card for recently (ie in the last 3 weeks) on the net was for my monthly subscription of eve. And VISA are conducting an investigation at the moment.
I am not accusing CCP or anything like that but just to warn everybody to keep a close eye on your transactions and to shout to your credit card company if anybody else notices strange spending habits."

Please check your credit card statements ASAP.

First time I've heard of this. I very much doubt it would be due to EVE. If credit card details were taken, then many other people would be shouting and screaming. If you've used that card in a resturant or somewhere, this is more likely how the details were stolen. It's happened to me before. Best advice to give, is never let your card out of your sight.

But neither can it be ruled out. For now, I'd just advise everyone to check out your statements. Probably a false alarm, but better safe than sorry.

Yeah of course... Nice of you to let us know. I'd also suggest, if you havn't already, run a full virus scan on your computer.

It is highly unlikely, next to impossible, that this is has anything to do with EVE.
Billing for EVE is done by a company owned by EuroPay. No one at CCP or Síminn, or even the owner of an EVE account, using correct password can see the credit card number (only the last 4 letters), it is simply not stored any where.
When you signup your credit card number goes over secure HTTP straight to the billing companies servers. Those servers and the process have been audited many times over and are used for billing application much larger than EVE.
