I thought as a Software Test Analyst (A real one) I should write a few words on this subject. I feel motivated to do this as I am sick of reading posts slagging eve as being bugged up crap. Guys it isnt. In fact as a piece of development its actually rather stable :) What you mistake for bugs are in fact ongoing progress of an MMORPG. This progress will happen for the life of the game as it does for all MMORPG. Also if you actaully understood a software development lifecycle you would know that I could write a small 20 line program with a few "if" statements that could have a potential 100 trillion paths. SO how the **** do you test that then. MS word has perhaps 500k lines of code not 20. I would guess this game has even more. As a tester we do our best to find most bugs in a game or any software for that matter ( I normally work in Telecoms billing systems) But there is always a time when you have to release because you have to make money as a company. As a tester I can say I havnt tested it enough. I mean I have to think about little johnny warping and then right cliking on a certain pixel on the screen and boom down goes his client (it happens) in fact as a tester we have to try and think of everything you the user would do! We have to try and think of all the combinations of key stokes you may or may not make while your doing some action. Sit there now and think where would you start to test this game? What would be your first test? And if you think just by playing it your testing it you are very far from the mark of what testing actually is :) So please be patient. In terms of software testing this game is very stable and not in beta as some of the uninformed would have you believe.

Wonderful post soul :)

However I would feel slightly inclined to note that YES as far as software is concenred it's not Beta.

But as far as Balance and mechanics goes, It IS in the very late stages of Beta. The last patch as wonderful as it was kinda shows my point (I literraly found new interest in EVE all over again because of that patch.).

And I also fully agrree as a MMORPG (which was until recently a M0oRPG) you have to be a bit more lenient with Balancing issues ETC.

But some VERY basic elements of the game where only very recently put in, elements that I'm sure where meant to go live on release day (ammo effecting ranges, tracking speeds actually having an EFFECT ETC).

Anway No, I am not knocking this game or your point soul, I ADORE this game, and you ARE 100% accurate in your assesment of the games "Software."

It STILL has some buggy aspects, but no more than any other games this early after release... Yes I still crash a lot in some situations... Lag is atrocious with more than 2 or 3 player ships on the screen in a battle with NPC pirates and drones buzzing all about...

But all of that must be expected...

The only area I think could still be clasifyable as Beta to many people, is the content itself and some game mechanics...

It's not awful like it was a month and a half ago, but you know what?

I'm going to shut up now before you think I'm trying to argue, cuz I'm not I'm just trying to be fair in my review hehehe.
