Since I wrote this in a post in "ships and modules", I thought I could post it here as a topic.

Guide to fight Sansha's.

Butcher(10k): Has extremely short range. Both optimal and fallof is about 3km each. They have thermal light missiles for distance.

Ravisher(20k): Has medium range. Their lasers mainly deal EM damage. They fire explosive heavy missiles.

Ravager(30k): Has long range. Both optimal and fallof is about 10km each. So they will damage you from 20km. Their lasers ONLY do EM damage. And they use EM heavy missiles.
Conclusion: Don't even try to fight them without an EM shield hardener. But when using one, these pirates are easy.

Beast(40k) and Juggernaut(50k): These are much the same. They have very short optimal range, less than 4km, but a fallof of about 20km, so they will start to do small damage from distance. Their lasers are mostly thermal damage(but a good amount of EM too). They use Thermal heavy missiles.
Conclusion: Dont try to fight them without a thermal hardener.

Usual groups of pirates:
In systems without Bistot there is no Juggernauts:
2 ravishers and 1 ravager
3-4 Butchers and 1 Beast

In systems with Bistot:
3 Beasts
3 Ravishers and 1 Juggernaut

After the patch the drop-rate of Modulated Heavy lasers is VERY low.
I find everyone except the Beast and Juggernaut to only drop junk.

Feedback is welcome. If you find anything to be wrong, please say so.

Systems without Bistot do have Juggernauts althou more rare, usually there are Beasts.

Nah, you don't have to go to Stain or beyond to find them (which I would advice you NOT to do).
There are plenty of Sansha's in Catch and Providence, although I've never encountered a 50k pirate there.
