I've been playin a few weeks off and on and found the game to be enjoyable. Now my friend from another mmog joined up and I have a few questions.

How do we start a corp together to share stuff?
I am assuming this is the only way to have a hanger between us. I think one of us needs to get the CEO skill but have no idea what to do or what to expect after this.

Security ratings: We are currently in a .6 system which seems pretty safe. I have noticed the npc pirates have gotten harder (or so it seems) as we move down the levels of security. Can we move down to a .4 or even a .2 without worrying about other players.

We have had at least one other player tells us to get the hell out of a field. That it was his and if we didnt leave we would be sorry. This happened in a .6 system. We didn't leave but nothing really happened either. How much more of this can we expect to run into the lower we go?

Thanks for any replies.

Hi Bliv,

Wish I could help you out on that one. My best advice would be to ask in the Help channel in game. I know it requires some skills in corporation management, sadly more then that I can't tell you as I don't know myself as I have'nt been through that process yet.

Try to ask me in game, I can try to ask other people also and find out for you :)

Need to purchase corp management skill. Then setting up the corp costs 500k I think.

The player who threatened you? Laugh in his face. If he attacks in a 0.6 the police will own him. If he keeps acting like a ****, blow up his loot containers

Whilst it said 500isk in the manual, someone I spoke to said it cost them 200,000isk. So just be careful and prepared. Don't pay the funds if you haven't got them, or you stand a chance you might be fined by the system for going into debit. Not sure if this is the same as when trying to place buy orders without the funds.

Yes you do need the corp management skill :)

Hope that helps.

Bliv,

As stated you need the Corp Management skill, plus the Ethnic Relation one if you wish for folk of a different race to be able to join your corp.

It cost me 160k to create a corp, dunno if that has changed.

Give some thought to where you create your Corp HQ as that will affect a lot of things. If you will need to leave mining ships mining in safety whilst you're away from your PC then a 0.9 or 1.0 - but if you want to be close to the edge of civilised space (perhaps to go pirate hunting) then you'll want to find a 0.3 - 0.5 that has a station with spare Office slots. Be sure to get a Station with all the services in it as that helps - so Labs, Factories, Insurance and so on.

Your mate will then need to apply to join your Corp, and you can then grant him a level of membership up to being a joint CEO with you.

As a general rule, safer systems are easier to find goods in, involve shorter distances to do courier work and are safe to travel through but the rewards are much lower. It will also be much harder to find stations to open Offices in as in safe areas all the office slots will be taken.

As for the roid belt guy, there is no ownership for roid belts as such, so in any system over 0.3/0.4 just ignore him. If he did attack you the cops would appear. Being in a Corp will often, in itself, make folk more reluctant to attack you as though you may be weak, your Corp buddies may be armed to the teeth and he won't want to risk being targeted by a whole Corp.
