Sunday at 22:30 (CET) (20:30 GMT) we were pirate hunting in a 0.0 system somewhere.

We got a Maurader,(40k) and 4 predators (30k), after we killed the first load, the next respawned, and the next, and the next.

Before we knew it, there where around 40 containers floating, and still 5 bogeys attacking. after 45 minutes of constant fighting, my buddy was out of ammo. I kept fighting for another 15 minutes, untill my ammo was depleted, but they kept coming and coming.

In the local chat I found that in other belts, the same thing happened, weird.

Are there more ppl who experienced this 'happy hour'?

We were unable to get to the loot, but our wallet show we gained 800k and 500k , in 1 short hour

Certain belts have pirates set on insta spawn, so everytime you destroy 1 group, another appears right on top of you. This can become a minor annoyance with the missile Spamming pirates.

That's cool, when you are prepared for it, we were actually, but didn't know it would happen.

We attacked pirates in this belt before, so the insta-spawn isn't always activated, I will be returning to this belt at the same hour, to see if it happens again :-)

IF you take a while to kill them, which is probably going to happen now combats been made to last longer as originally intended, the pirates will spawn fairly fast.

If you manage to kill them all pretty fast one after the other, the next spawn should take a little longer, if it will give you enough time to loot your rewards, thats a different story.

I guess you just need a bit more fire power, try going at it with 3 pilots.

Yup, I think that's true. Next time we will be returning with 3 pilots in total, so we should be able to take in some loot.

Still weird that it happened to multiple belts at exactly the same time..

I had the same but they stopped after i killed about 80 of them and for the next hour none spawned in that belt, which gave me plenty of time to hoard up all the loot;-)

I've had it happen too - I think it's rather OTT as it means in an IC sense the rats are throwing good money after bad. At least give a 5min pause to allow pickup of loot.

Oh no, don't give me 5 minutes, I loved this combat very much, and if I had more time, I would have killed them untill they stopped spawning, but I had to go to bed :-(

seems to be "belt" dependant.

on my own i killed for at least an hour, 1.5M bounty further on a mate joned and we killed them all, looted the 20+ can's (all the missiles killed a lot of cans) and they did not respawn anymore.

the next 10 belts or so only had one group and nothing further within 5 mins...

Pirates, bandits, raiders.. whatever you want to call them should actually "warp in" from nowhere then just respawn. Respawning is just such a lame way for a game like this one, makes you feel like you're more fighting game "monsters" then actuall characters.

Try taking a well equiped indy along(badger 2 or mammoth) tp grab the loot as you kill the pirates, il perform that service for a modest fee >:)

If you want them to stop respawning, take them all down to 10% armor, and destroy them at the same time.

yep. If you take them one at a time they'll just keep spawning. Was doing it myself yesterday. I fired up about 2000 ammo on 1 50k and 3 20k who just kept spawning.

we had something similar around the same time. made over a million each between 4 of us in what seemed like no time, just from pirate bountys. had to get the lasers out... it got silly with the ammo!

On saturday in a .5 belt we had been mining for an hour or 2, the pirates just went insane. They started respawning in groups of 7 ever 3 min or so. In an hour and 10 minutes I collected 153 bounties, and the bestower pilot picked up 254 loot items. For some reason every group targeted me. My 8 wasp drones downed each group. I continued to mine the whole time. This continued untill my client crashed I suspect because of the huge number of cans floating around. When I relog the pirate spawns stopped. Even though there was another cruser mining in the belt and our indy picking up loot. I think if it had not crashed I would still be collecting bounties.

This can't be how it is suppose to work. These are not big bounties but 153 of them starts to add up. And all the loot made quite a recyling project.

P.S. But it did not raise my sec status even .1 ? You should get atleast .5 for 153 pirates. whats up with that.

Instaspawns can be cultivated sometimes as well. For example, find a belt with 5 pirates, kill 4 of them and leave the weakest alive but injured. Soon the pirates get reinforcements so you finish off the weak one and proceed to kill the new pirates except one, whom you weaken. If you keep this up you will notice a decrease in reinforcement time the longer you kill in the belt. Eventually you will have an instaspawn going, just remember to bring thousands of ammo, or have an industrial ready to bring you more :-).

Yesterday I got about 1million in 30 minutes by myself just from bounties, good times, good times.

There's a real juicy one where the belt is split into two sections and mobs spawn from both sides. They also spawn repeatedly while killing them. I remember at one time there were 5 cruisers and 7 frigates all at one time.

This was especially nice because they were all low range mobs (don't shoot unless -15k) So anyone with greater range could solo them.

But I had a dedicated indy pilot (badger ii) who was filled in 15-20 minutes :) (pre-weight reduction patch).

Id like to see you all take on these pirate after the patch, or even want to be there when they insta spawn,

and yes there was a time when pirate warped in, back when you could find good ore in 0.0 belts, the pirates has type of patrol, and you could see them warp in, now they are just there in the belt, or you see them magically appear.

Same goes for concord and the security forces, they used to warp in, now they just instaspawn right ontop of you and proceed to warp scramble ECM and webify! i just think thats plain unfair! at least let them insta spawn 30 to 40k away! make it seem like they warped in, how it is now concord appear in warp scramble ecm and webify range, instantly so you have no warning.

Hanns truce dude.

We were in a dead end 0.0 non-empire system last night and the only reason we got caught when the NPC pirates warped in on us was (I think) we were to close to the roids. If we had been out from the roids more we would have been ok. But we were guarding a miner so had to be close to him.

Has it was, one of our number almost took it for the team. Three NPC pirates (out of the 5) warped scrambled him and webbed him. He got out with only 4% structure left. But we did kill all the NPC pirates. Me, I hit the Lif ABs and pointed stright up when I saw em and started blasting. They hardly touched me.

I joined the party late and was told that the pirates seemed easier a couple hours earlier.
