I was wonderin why its so easy to lose your sec rating and so hard to get it back up. right now my sec rating is -.9 and i been killin lots of 30k+ pirates but they only give .000010 .000009 etc bonuses to your rating i think these should be adjusted accordingly especailly now that the pirates are much harder to kill. Just want some feedback hopefully my voice is heard

I still get +0.004 for 7k pirates in high sec areas .. I think you have to leave the 0.0 systems to gain any serious rating from piratehunting.

Ompah, unfortunately with the current changes to security, thats impossible for some people. I lost more security in Fleet actions in 0.0 areas than I did pirating, ever.

oh puhlease....

First people whine that it is TOO easy to kill humans, and get your sec. status back to 0 by killing pirates.

CCP changes this, so that you'll get less points when killing pirates, and now people whine that their sec. status is not raised fast enough!!! Whaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

When you don't have a habit of attacking people, you will have nothing to worry about.

Defending yourself when being attacked, does not influence your sec. status (unless you suffer from a bug)

I agree that there should be some way of increasing sec rating, but killing NPC pirates shouldn't be it. Perhaps some really involved agent missions or similar. Or maybe if they had some real penalties for getting hit by bounty hunters then that should cause a sizable increase.

Ghengiz, being rather new game developers CCP hasn't learned that moderation is the best path when it comes to balancing, Pirate bonuses went from one end of the spectrum to the other.

People want a middle ground here, not polarity.

True, but personally I think the current system regarding gaining sec. status when killing pirates is fine.

You should not be able to raise your sec. status fast. This will encourage people to kill humans, then get the sec. status back to 0, and safely go through secure systems.

I think it is a bit to difficult to gain security standing anymore. I think the devs need to rethink how you gain and how you loose security.

Lets face it.. now and then you just have to wack someone for whatever reason. I'm not talking senseless moo style killing I mean, your happily blasting rats and someone keeps stealing your loot in 0.0 space. There is only one way to stop them but as of now even in 0.0 space you loose security for it.

I've noticed you alos loose security if you shoot at someone, stop, then shoot at them again. You loose security twice! Thats easy to fix with a timer... if you start shooting at the same person more than once in a certain period of time you don't loose security the second time.

I'd also make a long term timer. If you have gone like X days and not shot at another player you get Y times the normal bonus for killing rats.

The opposite also needs to be true. If you are spending your days blasting players the security loss should go up with a multiple.

At the end of a week or two the bad people should be at -10 sec and the good people +10. Great care should be taken to keep folks from flipping from + to - sec rating on a regular basis and thus evading justice. This is easily handled by keeping track of when you last went from + to - sec.

Ghengiz, so you're saying that losing .352 Security status everytime you're mining and warp scramble and freeze a container theif is fine? Or how about .352 every time you fire a shot at someone, prior to waiting that lame 24 hrs for a corporate war.

Sorry man, its not fine. CCP did a classic knee jerk reaction and turned what had been a minor problem into something far worse. Legitimate corps that were only seeking a little action are now forever condemned to live in Non-Empire regions.

Forget the jettisoned-ore crapument. How about pirate loot? How about happy ratblasting for hours with a friend looking for that one rare item their commander is rumoured to equip... and he appears, and you blast him, and some jerk zooms in and steals the drop and runs off. Oh but wait, i can't commit any CRIMES today, i'm on probation!

It is very apparent that soon the only people with positive security ratings will be n00bs and professional victims; or, no one will do anything at all.

im still wondering why i havent recieved a single point in pirate kills since the 1077 patch...i mean not even 0.00001...nothing, nada, f**all. All i do is hunt npc pirates, so thats all those lovely 50k pirates i killed to earn 2 mill a day for the week running up to this new patch.....


can i have a point please?

I don't understand this. I have never gotten a security hit in a 0.0 when attacking someone. Do you pod ppl?

Everytime I got into the red on security ratings I went and killed pirates asap to get it back up. I am glad I did this before all the security changes when killing pirates actually impacted your status. At least I am at 1.0 now :) . Come to think of it pk'n was a pretty stupid thing to do. Could of had a nice 7+ security rating if I had not done it and there was no real money in it.

Has to be a rough life for the pk'rs that let their security drop down below -5....retired or active pk'rs ;) .

Nope, didn't Pod anyone. It depends if you take a security hit on who fires first, which is kinda lame.

0.0 should give you no security hit no matter what.
