I was just wondering. I have not gone into 0.0 space yet. I read the forums about the corp groups that take over bases. I was wondering as a budding explorer, with so many pilots playing for years are there any unexplored areas or conquerable bases left to find out there.

From my understanding of things.. you wouldn't last much out there if you are not

a) in a large group with lots of protection..

or

b) Solo with a highly skilled character and a fully decked out and armed to the teeth ship.

And from the looks of things even those to requirements dont guarantee you survival all the time lol.

This is not always true, as if you are in a fast frigate such as an interceptor or perhaps a vigil and have instas, you can get past almost any blockade that doesn't have warp bubbles, though you would probably be caught eventually..

To the question, its extremely unlikely that everything hasn't been found, though you may be lucky in some of the systems where no-one ever goes and find a hidden structure or something, but its unlikely to be unique. EVE isn't so good for exploring now, though you can always go look for things yourself and see stuff you haven't personally seen even if others have, sure it may have already been found but if you find it yourself as well its still exploring.

Though I wouldn't personally want to go to 0.0 space as a neutral with just the intent of exploring, all non-alliance (in alliance space anyway) people are classed as hostile, and some other space is just plain nasty.

However, getting to know some people in the space you want to go to and perhaps joining them for a while (good for getting instas which are vital for surviving down there) and exploring then leaving to carry on with EVE if they will let you.

I acknowledge you exploring spirit.

I started playing in November 2003 and was in 0.0 in the querious, delve and period basis area after about 3 weeks thanks to the corp I joined back then (Minmater Empire).

Being a newby and filled with the wonder of this fine looking game I had the urge to expore as well. I kept detailed notes about each system i visited. What dissapointed me the most was the amount of giant secure containers i found in the deapest reaches of 0.0, i was not the first.

My guess is only those who played beta got to truely expore. Having said that exploration is still fun and really help you get the hang of the scanner and many explorers go in in frigs and come out in bs's :)

As for conquerable stations those where found within minutes of being realeased and that was one of the best gold rushes ever in eve, dam that was fun.

My advice if you want to explore take a vigil and make sure you dont have implants, and take a trip, talk to people in local except at the head roads to 0.0 they are normally heavilly guarded or camped, just pin your ears back and go like hell :). In the end the pirates will want to gank you (probably) and the alliances in the area will want to gank you for entering (probably)but that wont stop you from looking around.

Good luck
