Greetings,

Although I seem to have some vague memories of beta testing Eve, I am about as new as can be, having just started an account last night. I am still getting used to just about everything and I have a few basic questions I am hoping someone will be able to answer.

User Interface
1) Is there any way to adjust the font size of mouseover text for objects in space? I am running in 1600x1200 and feel like I am going blind: the text is insanely small.

2) Any tips on organizing the interface to reduce clutter? I have nested several windows (journal, wallet, etc.) in with the chat windows, but it still seems like the screen can quickly be overrun with popup windows.

Attributes
3) I saw a thread or link somewhere on these forums for a guide to allocating attributes at character creation, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Could someone point me in the right direction please?

4) At character creation I started as a fighter profession rather than manually adjusting attribute values. As a Caldari, this has given me:

Int 6
Per 12
Mem 6
Wil 11
Cha 4

So my question is, am I gimped with regard to skill learning time? If I am, now is a good time for me to reroll.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Unfortunately, no, nothing I have ever seen.

The best tip I can give you is to have as little open at the same time as possible, you don't need to always have the journal etc open as they are easily opened again via your NeoCom.

If fighting is what you want to do then those attributes are fine, you can increase all of them with the learning skills and implants if you need them.

I hope this answers some of your questions, and enjoy EVE Very Happy

If I were you I'd create another character. Perception and Memory are important for actually flying ships, but a fighter also needs engineering, electronics, and others for installing and using ship modules, and those skills usually rely on intelligence and memory. Yes, you could use learning skills to raise your Int and Mem, but learning skills rely on Int and Mem so those are gonna take forever to train. It's ok to leave Charisma as low as possible, but my advice is to try to balance the other 4 attributes a bit more.

The two attributes you want high are Perception and Intelligence. This will help alot on fighting, and alot for Engineering/electronics skills which are vital for survival.
