Shira yawns
Didn't you say you had something to do? Maybe you should go do it.
I'll admit that I don't have any spiffy medals to show off for services rendered (not as a nod to what I'm doing politically). But, I do have the backing of the progressives (since you have the backing of the traditionalists). And all this round and around doesn't mean anything... so why don't we just sit back and wait... and see what happens.

I couldn't agree more - and while you're at it, tell them "Da mihi sis bubulae frustrum assae, solana tuberosa in modo gallico fricta, ac quassum lactatum coagulatum crassum" for me. Freedom for the Chao! Erisia. PS: They probably aren't well educated enough to have read Thomas Aquinas or Ulpian. PPS: It's not like reading and thinking for yourself is encouraged in the Clergy anyway. PPPS: Remind them to hold the mustard. |

Originally by: Shira d'Radonis It is a sad fact that the Ni-Kunni mongrelization of our religion and our society has permeated so much of the Amarrian Empire's institutions. It is these money changers who, cloaked in the illusion of righteousness, have turned what was a once faith-based (albeit misguided) institution of slavery into an excuse for profiteering.
OK, so... let me get this straight because I think you've just made my day... your religion and your scriptures tell you to go forth and subjugate all other races in the name of your god. You subjugate the Ni-Kunni and now everything you held dear has gone to hell in a handbasket..? Couldn't have been much of a religion in the first place if one 'primitive' race managed to knock it flat on its arse, now could it? |

The quest to subjugate other races and conquer new nations is a perversion of Scripture. It was taking liberties with the letter of the law that the people at that time did not have the right to take. I am against slavery. I am against subjugation... but I believe in my Faith. What I don't believe in is the doctrines that were tacked on... and that is coming back to bite us now... the Ni-Kunni are just chickens coming home to roost. |

Poor Shira. The Emperor has not been silent about the CVA.
We have been recognised by his Chamberlian more than once, and decorated for service to the Empire.
I think you will find that... this throws your statement that we are not in the Emperors favor a tad out the window, doesnt it.
Oh and just curious... how does a loyal citizen justify slave revolts that kill Amarrans? I wonder if perhaps you arent just as insane as the Blood Raiders... |

Yeah... I already acknowledge that fact... maybe you ought to read instead of spending time posturing? Hmmm... Quote: I think you will find that... this throws your statement that we are not in the Emperors favor a tad out the window, doesnt it.
I wasn't the one who opened the door on that one... it was somebody else who referred to the Emperor being silent. Regardless, it doesn't really matter since you can extort whatever you want out of him anyway being that you are the ones in control of the situation. Quote: Oh and just curious... how does a loyal citizen justify slave revolts that kill Amarrans? I wonder if perhaps you arent just as insane as the Blood Raiders...
Once again, the communication process has broken down... I was within spitting distance of the incident in question when it happened and I knew what was going on... I could have quite easily intervened on behalf of the escaping slaves, but I didn't because I don't condone that kind of action. Justifying it and acknowledging it are two very different things... As I have said, my fight in the Empire is an intellectual one... I do not want bloody revolution. I want peaceful change... however, if it means backing fighters in San Matar that's different. Though, to be honest, there's a lengthy list of people that I feel have sacrificed the right to be non-combatants in the coming turmoil... But it is no different than the conservative's list of people they consider to be expendable as well... Winning the peace, admittedly, can sometimes be a... brutal affair. |
