I have seen roids respawn but there is a total where all the roids are taken from so I think if it doesnt respawn that there is just to much ore of that type mined already so maybe it respawen when ships explodeds and things I dont know how it works precisly.

I just feel sorry for anyone coming into the game as a noob, with more and more systems getting totaly stripped its going to be near impossable for them to get any mins or to mine for isk as this problem persists.

The higher the sec or lower mineral value the more of it respawns after downtime.

I have seen half a roid belt respawn or all of it not sure. This was in higher sec space though.

No ore respawn for ages in fountain region...

Well .. I suspect there's a thought behind the more expensive ores not spawning as often. With all the big corps showing up they could poop out battleships like crazy if they had unlimited supply of ores.

Less spawning creates more competition for the good systems to mine in, ergo: more large conflicts and more fun for everyone.

Agree to that - but the question is IF they spawn new. Has anyone see some new bis roids the last 2 weeks?

I've never witnessed one respawn, but I know that we strip mined a belt a couple of weeks ago, and now it's nearly all back.

The asteroid belts refreshes/rebuilds themselves during the server downtime. When the game went gold, it used to be every day, but now the refresh occurs in two or three day intervals, varying sometimes. Maybe it's one of the reasons for the downtime as the universe reconstructs itself.

The belts also somehow gradually shift in position in time, as if they really orbit around a star.

Pay a visit to Stain and you'll find many "roid fields" without a single roid in them. Or maybe you'll be shot down...

I don't know about the higher ores (haven't paid too much attention), but the lower belts seem to respawn at least twice weekly.

It seems to depend on how depleted they are - I had a belt not respawn for 2 weeks, then when my corp started mining every roid but veld, it respawned in 2-3 days, and respawned every 2-3 days afterwards.

You may have to (god forbid) mine some lower ores in those belts to get the good stuff to respawn.

Saw Jaspet respawn. Mined a belt out, next day after the downtime, 3 roids were back.
You have to sell the minerals, or to produce. The roids will only respawn if the min are "destroyed" -> sold back to npc or used in production. If you sit back on XXXXXXXX of minerals and do nothing with them, you will see no new roids.

Asteroids are shy and are afraid of mining lasers. The orange light scares them. Therefore, they won't respawn as long as there's mining lasers around. Yeah... that's why. o_0

I recall reading an interview in which a Dev stated that the game is designed to have a limited amount of ore. It will respawn, but less and less ore will respawn as more ore gets taken out of the system and used for ships, etc. Ore that is resold to NPC's or used in ships that are distroyed, goes back into the system for respawn. Ore is also put into the system when new players join. The scarcity of ore is supposed to create incentive for corporate wars.

Just to add some info, we mined all the roids in Mora 6 4 the other day, finished around 7pm gmt. After downtime the following day, the entire belt had respawned (I'd say fully, from the brief visual inspection I gave it).

Could probably surmise that high sec roid belts respawn fairly quickly.

Ota Corps has mined out a couple belts in jak several times. Hell come to Jakanerva IV belt 1 and see no belt.. Of course the belts always respawn after the downtime. Rares like Omber and Kernite of course do not respawn, Omber seems to respawn once a week, and kernite once every other week. That's just a guess though, minerals in low security space seem to stay gone for over a month at a time.

Uhmm..maybe empire space is better. But in 0.0 we basicly donīt have roids left. Almost all minerals are used for shipproduction. All is mined, even scordite and veldspar. There simply wont spawn more than roid or 2 a day. The entire constellation is almost out. It do however reduce the "loadtime" when entering a field. We also have to fields with 2 dimensions. (Goto one part and all changes, pirates goa way).

I truly feel sorry for new players; most of the starter systems are barren due to corporation stripe mining. I suggest a new code for 1.0 to .8 systems that has a respawn that is greatly increased.

our corp has strip mined 3-4 belts in a night come on next day and started all over again having teh belts totally respawn on us.

think in low sec though it takes ages to come back...

Yeah. I made an announcement to my corp one day, "Nausschie 6.1 is almost depleted - Tomorrow let's bust the rest!"

Big disappointment when they all respawned. :)
