i'm not sure if this is exactly relevant but...do you guys actually need them right now?

as it stands the raven is one of the meanest ships PvE and any agent toting mission runner with one of these can clear alot of stuff and chain about whatever it wants.

Scorpion is probs one of the most useful PvP ships with its EW capabilities

Other ships aint too bad either

Most of that stuff is in the market, so it's gunna come out sooner or later.

None of the stuff you mentioned will be out before the missile balance, which is coming soon(tm). Maybe except for XL Shield Booster II, and the shield boost amp II.

I suspect that the missile balance will be in the next patch, after the one due in april.

Why bother implementing new stuff when missiles are gonna be overhauled in a bit anyway? That just leads to un-necessary unbalances.

I'm afraid Tech 2 missiles and launchers will not appear without Tech 2 drones coming onto the scene. And I don't see that coming any time soon.

Caldari weapons are imbalanced. The rest of their race modules are not.

With current EW, it can go snipe. No range on EW, the only thing stopping you is your max targetting range. But torps suxxor at range, so the Scorp HAS to be a close range ship.

With new EW, it has a range. If you implement Railguns (which are a ranged weapon. Well... have a higher range than EW anyway, at least if you want to hit anything) then you can't use EW.

Poor, poor Scorpion. =(

its not that we need better stuff for missle launchers. Torps are a bit on the strong side, we got the best ships for NPCs..

but it's boring. only a few skills, lucky we have named launchers let alone tech2? more skills? implants?

hell, no tech2 xl shield booster? gimme a break

we CAN get bored ya know.. Our main weapons might as well be smartbombs, thats how they look at missles anyways, that they're nothing other then an addon weapon for turret battleships.

I'm NOT saying they're underpowered, I'm saying that they're boring. 1m SP in missles and I feel like I don't need to train any more skills.

New missile skills?

Are you nuts?

As Caldari, I had to train gunnery up to specialization and now you want me to train missiles to some new stupid and insanely high levels of grinding?

Why so? Are you bored with nothing to train or something? Or maybe having to train EW isn't enough of a new grind?

And why wouldn't tech I missiles do as much damage as guns before we talk about tech II?
Not everyone shoots cruises and up, you know, some would like light/heavy missiles actually hit something else than the void and do damage on par with guns.

At the moment, Caldari = Carebear with the best mission ship in the game: the Raven. If you run 0.0 complexes or belts, the Raven is a major pain anyways.
Caldari don't have the best tech I frigs, nor tech II frigs, nor cruiser of any tech, nor industrial.
Caldari are the best at EW. Were the best! since that's going to be changed, or nerfed depending at how you look at it.
Caldari have 'well-rounded' versatile ships, which is known to be rather pointless in EVE since you better be the best at something than second at anything else.

And what about shield tanking?

And what about having a longe range battleship?


If I were to begin again, I'd go Minmatar or Amarr, not Caldari, that's for sure.

I can imagine how they'll make the tech 2 shield stuff impossible to fit on minmatar due to CPU problems, and armor repairers impossible due to power problems.

Caldari BS need missile nerf

Caldari rail gun ships need love. I wished there were any good Caldari gunboats. 4 turrets just doesn't cut it, no damage bonuses either, it's sad

Missiles have to travel to target before it damages = You have to tank all BS/cruisers/frigs longer. With turrets you can kill first BS lot faster and move to next one and you dont lose any ammo like you do with missiles if you shot few too many. Missiles hit all the time, but how many times you have seen missile hit 2000+ damage? ugh

i dont know much about pve but i know a little about pvp.

Currently Raven is a good ship when it comes to 1 vs 1 but really useless when it comes to fleet battles, as they usually happen with a long range.

U target spit out 20 torps and ur target warps away. :/

imo there could be multiple solutions.

introduce T2 siege launchers and T2 ammo that has a faster speed, torps with 3000m/s and cruise with 6000m/s :) but with really crapy agility so they wount catch a interceptor when its orbiting you.
Point of that is your ammo reaches your enemy faster and doesnt go to waste in fleet battles. It makes the pve a bit simpler tho.

option 2, when your target warps away, torps just start to fly towards ur next target u have activated.it would change pvp i think as torps are already on their way and dont have to travel that much, but it wouldnt change too much pve as usually rats are not really close to each other and the torps life time just runs out.

just my 4,5 cents

Want boring? Try training 5 million skill points in gunnery, and seeing your weapons nurfed to impotence for 6+ months. Then when they "de-nerfed them", they aren't anywhere close to where they were, so you need those 5 mil + skill points to even GLIMPSE a shadow of their former glory every once in a while.

I'd suggest you start training turrets, because as we all know history repeats itself.

Pretty soon, it will take 12 torpedoes to take out a frigate, if the history of the nerf bat is any guidance.

I agree 100% with Sorja on this.

After I finish up cald BS 5 I hope to never train another cald skill again (put so much time in caldari at this point would be a waste to not max em all off though)

I hope that when they nerf missiles, they either remove defenders or make a form of anti-weapon mod to use against the turrets that stops the shots, cos right now all you anti-missile cry babies can solve your problems but just fitting a defender filled rocket launcher... (or using the plenty of time you have until the missiles hit, to actualy leave combat)

You die 1vs1 against a Raven, its your own fault...

Explain to me how to fit defenders on a geddon or dom?

Explain to me how an apocs 2 missile slots are supposed to stop a 6 torp volley?

Explain to me why my tempest with 2 rocket launchers spamming defenders cant omgwtfpwn all of a ravens torps?

Oh wait, cause not all BS have missile slots, and defenders suck ass vs torps.

75% of all BS I see now outside of fleet battles are ravens. I'm talking PvE and small gang battles. There is no reason to use any other ship besides a Raven outside of fleet battles.
