The European Union has imposed a massive tax, as high as 25%, on U.S. Companies, operating solely in the U.S., and providing services solely in the United States. American companies are taxed up to 25% of the cost whenever they supply websites or web-hosting services, downloaded software (including updates of software), downloaded images, text or information, including making databases available, digitised books or other electronic publications, downloaded music, films or games, electronic auctions, or internet service packages to anyone who has set up a home with their family and are in full time employment within the European Union -- even if that person is currently in America! While the European Union claims that the tax is 'really' on their residents, U.S. Companies are being forced to collect the tax and are going to be held liable if they fail to do so!

This is all part of the European Union's newly imposed Internet VAT tax.

This will have an impact how U.S. MMORPG companies accept foreign EU customers to their servers....

LMFAO. Where did you read this tastey bit of propoganda???? The only way for them to tax people for getting updates and the like on software is to fully police everything their residents do on their computers while online. While it is a nice notion to look for an excuse that US companies add more taxes to their services this bit of news is extremly untrue and has absolutly nothing to do with fugiin EVE. I hope it gets removed!

It applies to Eve, or any Mmorpg. I believe the tax is a 17.5% VAT charge imposed on internet services outside of the EU serving residents of the EU. I've already cancelled my Planetside account because of this... they've passed the charge straight on and it just isn't worth the money now.
