I have had it for now with CCP screwing the game up for ppl. You work hard to get some stuff and you get robbed by CCP. And if you complain the only answer you get is, sorry, we cannot do anything about it. Tough luck.

Lost skills. Ships. Getting stuck and all the other good stuff CCP share out to us players.

And now, was using my research slot and 2 factory slots today. I payed for them. But I dont have the slots anymore, nice when I payed for them before this extra patch the geniuses at CCP put out. Where they find theese programers??? Microsoft?

Im gonna talk law, see who ends up paying who what.

it's their game. you have no legal recourse. you COULD sue...but it would be just a waste of money.

Well, you can do here what you probably do elsewhere when you don't like a product or service: stop using it.

Actually you can get it trough. Does not really matter what it says at the accept button.

Example, if the tobaco industry would get away with putting, if you smoke this, you get cancer on their packages and they are free from charges.

So CCP is in now way secure if you say so.

Vacuole, I have payed for this game. CCP have marketed the game with a lot of functions that are no where to be seen and so on. And there are multiple other points they are missing. Nowhere in the info it says about the daily downtime.

So I have all the right.

Actually, pushing an 'Accept' button on a EULA isn't legal binding. For several reasons:

1) The act of pushing that button in no way positively verifies who is accepting the terms. Without positive verification of both parties in an agreement, the agreement isn't valid.

2) Several countries (the US included) will not allow one of their citizen to knowingly or unknowingly sign away basic personal rights. So if a court found that the consumer has a right to something, that EULA would not be binding.

3) The EULA's text is stored locally allowing for it to be tampered with at any time by anyone, which renders any such agreement suspect.

But now I wouldn't bother wasting my time in order to make some lawyer richer than he already is. Law suits are a remarkable waste of time and money. Not over 12.95 per month. Far more fitting would be to take factual evidence of what's going on to various press entities and letting the editors have fun with the game's reputation.

I can see the settlement:

After a long term and costly dispute, a settlement was reached. All those participating in the class action suite will be issued 10 billion ISK in damages. However, as part of the settlement, all claimants agree to destroy their copies of EVE and never play the game again.

Scientist is somehow right.

I have lost a Thorax and a Bestower with some nice modules (425mm Dual Scouts, Partial Cargo Hull) due to CCP's bugs and I have waited once 8h to get unstuck.

No reimburse.

Can live with it. Mythic/GOA would at least have reimbursed me with free additional game time for the 8h loss.

But the bugs are still present. Well, I know how to not lose a ship due to them now.

But as long as we CTD in dangerous situations...

Seriously CCP, I offer to work for you in your bugfixing department for free. Just pay my flight to Iceland and back and let me sleep next to an available computer :P.

Its paid not payed. With spelling like that, no wonder you're a moron. :D

By your logic, anybody who adds a feature to a game, even something like Half Life, with a patch, could be sued. Get over it.

The press are already playing EVE - they can see for themselves. (Which makes it amusing when someone e-mails them with a major rant outlined as "factual evidence".)

Not really. A fair number of reviewers don't play games after reviewing them unless they believe that game to be extraordinary. Most serious reviewers don't have the time. I know a few :P

CCP ownes everything in game. The fact that you have it in your hangar doesn't make it yours.

You paid for the licence to install and play the game. The monthly fee gives you time on the server(s). You do not own the rights to the softwear nor do you get any say what they do with it.The equipment and skills in game have nothing to do with the $12.95/month or the price of the game.At any time if you don't like it you can quit.

why do americans love to throw around the "class action lawsuits", the only people who really benefit from it are the lawyers. something goes, wrong, sue. i don't like you, sue. I feel cheated, sue. it's annoying as hell. get over it. if life were perfect, well then..it would be a dream then. **** happens and it's not always fair. get over it.

(i can say this, i'm american)

All the smart mmorpgs have an aggreement that you must comply with to play that allows them the loopholes needed to avoid lawsuits.

"CCP ownes everything in game. The fact that you have it in your hangar doesn't make it yours."

More than that, the stuff doesn't even exist, it's just bits, data, virtual items. CCP owns the data, which has no legally enforceable real-world value to the players whatsoever.

Ah, but false advertising is about the differences between the printing on the outside of the box and the content within the box.

Their EULA can't save them from that.

New Universe. New Rules.

I think that is a convenient grey area. As long as they dont enforce anything in 0.0 security space they can still advertise that you can..."Conceive a new life without boundaries, where murder, plunder, betrayal, and delusions of granduer will lead you to boundless glory or the brink of ruin."

The printing on the box is in line with the game. Produce something the box says, and I will provide a valid 'case' for how it's *not* false advertising.

Please use only direct quotations from the box, thanks.

Hint: the box advert language is sufficiently vague (as is most adverts) that several conclusions can be drawn, limited only by one's imagination.

Go ahead, try.. we can make a game of it. :)
