Basic Fleet Mechanics Tutorial Video

Learning how to properly use the fleet window is one of the most basic (and crucial) skills in EVE Online. A nicely organized fleet is the very definition of power in EVE…
So you will want to learn how to do it right.

The above video goes over some of the most basic fleet mechanics in the game.
Even at the most advanced levels of the game play what you will see outlined here will be critical to your success. Cool

Some Common Q&A

Q. How do I get my fleet window to look like yours?
A. Right click the little bars next to where it says “Feel” (at the top” and “View as Hierarchy”

Q. What are good Broadcast settings? Will you be writing a guide about that too?
A. Prob no, because it depends on what your flying. Broadcast settings are about reducing clutter so if you are in a DPS ship you don’t always want to see the “Need Armor/Shield” broadcast (unless you are in a Remote Repair fleet) Alternativly if your in a Logistics ships you may not want to see the “Target Broadcast”

Broadcast settings should make it so you only SEE what you NEED TO SEE
Simplification is the key to awesomeness.

Q. How many Fleetmates can I have in my watch list?
A. 10

Q. I see in the vid that I can hold down Ctrl and click on someone in the watch list, can I also do it in the Broadcast history?
A. Yep. This becomes important when you have more then 10 people in your fleets, you will have to watch your broadcast history for “Need Armor/Shield” requests.
