My problem is that to play this game properly you have to invest a lot of time and i cant do that at the moment. But i just cannot stop skilling. 33 million SP in and i hardly play. i log on every now and again to change a skill or run a mission ive run a 100 times before

Anyone else in this boat that they dont want to waste all the time and SP they have invested into this game. Very Happy

Try shooting other players rather than red boxes. Watch as you have fun again.

The people i know are more entertaining then the game itself, so they keep me "sane" until CCP comes around.

I say "sane" cause no one that knows me would think I was ever sane to begin with.

(In before, "ya you must be insane to think CCP is ever gonna come around")

I play because I'm 7+ years in, because I have 110 m+ SP, because I'm in a good corp, and because my subscription doesn't run out until April 2012. After that I'll be paying with PLEX going forward.

I'm certainly not playing for atmospheric flight, walking in anything, or shooting people on planets. No, the parts of the game I want to see are further improvements/additions/refinements of the existing flying in space gameplay.

Try doing the shooting players thing in Wormholes. Biggest blob you're likely to see, barring a serious POS siege and eviction, is maybe 10-12 ships. More often it's in the 1-6 range. Also no hot drops. Also no supercaps. Seriously, those that are gung-ho for the small-gang/solo, 'holes are the place to be. (in b4 'but no local!!!!!!!oneoneeleven' whines). Trust me, no local is a boon, not a hindrance. I feel more exposed, these days, when I'm out in low/null. And I'm not running around in a cloakitycloak.

Progress Quest in Space!

I play the game because I enjoy it, though.

I haven't logged in since I started Gallente BS 5. And I think my my sub expires before that finishes training anyway.

I did pay to skill for about six months time, then I started wasting my money on pony stuff instead and found the happiness/dollar ratio to be much more favorable. Very Happy

The ONLY reason I am still "playing" is that I have RL $$$ paid for my accts. They run out in February. I can't walk away from the cash invested in my accounts until they expire. I have already unsubbed all 4 of my accts. 2 of them are expired. Just waiting til February for the last 2 to run out. Then I am done.

CCP can judge me by my actions and not my words and are welcome to look into verifying my claims anytime they wish. 2 down, 2 to go! Sad

No, I'm playing to play. I started in 2005. I did take a year off and came back to this CQ and Nex nonsense. Can't say I'm happy about it. At least you can turn the CQ off and ignore the Nex store, but even putting those aside, I think the game has failed to improve and, in some ways, has gotten worse over the years. This makes me sad since it was, at one time, so harsh, compelling, dramatic and unforgiving that it provided an experience you could find nowhere else. I don't want WoW in space. There are lots of games that hold your hand like that, can't we just have one that isnt? I want my harsh, unforgiving sandbox back.

I was okay with 'walking in stations'-Eve right up until I saw what it entailed. Then I was not. I do feel a bit dirty even playing this game nowadays. And not the good kind of dirty.

I'd say as a percentage of why I continue to play this game, I'd say it's at least 60%. And even then come December my sub runs out anyway.

Yes, I play considerably less. Not all of this because of Incarna, but the fact is that Eve FiS as they now call it is stagnant for more than a year, another thing is that 0.0 becomes pointless as the supercap hummer will smash everything on its way and currently there's no counter to that. In any case, I'll wait till supercap nerf and if it's not enough I can spend my $$$ on something more interesting than running around the couch in captains cell.

Folks with a lot of time invested probably come on to see their friends as much as anything else. That might be a greater enticement than mere skillpoints, as fewer friends come on they tend to log in less until one day they leave to.

Not really because of the skillpoints, but because of the 5-6 years of work, friendships, and money(other then sub cost) I've put into it.

Some of you are just sad... You don't want to stop playing because of how much time you invested? If you are not enjoying yourself in the current moment, why does it matter what you invested? Obviously your "investment" brought you fun for that time, but now you are no longer having fun. Just move on.

This isn't life. You can always return after you quit, or you can move on to new and improved game worlds.

(I say some of you are sad because it really IS sad to keep doing something you don't enjoy when there is nothing binding you to that choice. Saying some of you are sad isn't meant to be derogatory, just appropriate).
