I'm not a totally new player to EVE I played a trial or two years ago but recently I wanted to really give the game a try since I finally have time for it.
I want to try to be a fast attacking ship focused on hit and run tactics or something along those lines. I have been trying to look over the ships and I feel like Interceptors would be a good choice, so my question is are Interceptors good ships to go after, will I be able to do PvE missions for money with them and once I advance enough are they good for PvP?

They're not especially useful for PvE, although some of them like the Taranis are able to take down most belt rats (eventually.) I doubt you'll have much luck in missions beyond level 1's. They're definitely more geared towards getting initial tackle in PvP engagements.

Thanks for the reply, with that information what ship would anyone recommend that is a little bit on the faster side and still decent for PvE. Back in the day I messed around on my buddies account and he showed me a battleship and that just didn't seem like my cup of tea.

Right now you have low SP and are focusing on what you "want to fly" in EVE.
Not before to long, you will have more SP and start to diversify...

Frigate, Cruiser, Battlecruiser and Battleship is the typical skillpath for both ISK making and PVP.

Probably Crusader then since you get decent DPS at fair kiting range. Taranis does more DPS but has to be real close. Taranis for belt ratting, Crusader for missions. Neither is efficient but they are workable. Since you have low sps I wouldn't even bother. You may not have much fun when you can barely fit low-value modules and pull off only minimal dps. Like the above poster mentioned there is a better way to get into PvE.

Taranis
dual light pulse II w/scorch
dual light pulse II w/scorch
dual light pulse II w/scorch
gatling pulse II w/ scorch
(or you can do 4x dual light pulse with a 5% pg implant)

cold-gas afterburner
small electrochemical cap booster

n-type EANM
200mm tungsten plate
small armor repairer
heat sink II

small ancillary current router
small capacitor control circuit

132-166 DPS depending on if you use scorch or navy multifrequency

I think I will take the hint and save Interceptors for PvP fun and go a more traditional route for PvE so making money isn't as hard. Thanks for the advise.
