I have been flying frigs and assault frigs typically in PVP (solo and small gang, fleet) to decent effect. I also use both an AC and Arty Thrasher which I really enjoy, probably more than the frigs. I typically stick with frigs and dessy's for PVP.
Anyhow, Dessy's generally get tagged pretty quickly and go down fast (although the arty setup will hang for a while in a group engagement). I know there are a few who use the Sabre to good effect, but I will not be using it as much as an interdictor at first.
I would like to get some experiences from those who have used the Sabre quite a lot. |

No Sabre jocks to provide feedback? |

Sabre pilot myself, its a very fun boat to fly. Really good DPS for a ship its size. Almost 400 DPS. So things go down quickly, which is a good thing because it doesn't have much of a tank lol
There is a reason the Sabre is so much more expensive then its rivals from the other factions, its that much better.
But pick your fights wisely or you'll lose a lot of them. |

I kinda figured it was pretty thin. So, if I am not running in a pack, its a hit hard, hit fast, and bail ship. With an MWD, is it fast enough to get away typically? I have noticed a few fits that use a cloak; I assume that it still is subject to the 30 second module delay of a non-covert ops ship, correct? |

It's 10-12 seconds after Cloaking level taken into account for T2 cloak. And it is very useful on a Sabre because you can safely pick off targets to bubble and pop. |

Fitting a cloak on a gang sabre is a good idea if your double mse fit and there JUST for the bubbling.
If your roaming in a small frig gang I would say a thrasher is better cause as soon as someone sees a sabre flying in they gonna primary you to remove your high dps and to help lower the chance of a podding, even if you arent bubble setup lol. Its a high primary ship.
For solo, never flew a sabre but killed many with harpys, veng, hawks and stuff so that 400dps isent all thats cracked up to be but it sure is deadly to certain frigs and a lot of pilots. |

Thanks for the input. I have to admit the Vengeance and Jag are hard to beat. Love the Thrasher, will at least give the Sabre a go. |

I spent a while flying AC Thrashers and I have to tell you they're nothing like Sabres. You will have to learn a different flying technique even without using bubbles.
In terms of where you'll be on the target list - pretty high in low-sec, very high in null (if you're the only dictor you'll likely be primary).
Its a decent solo ship in null, its a bit too shiny/fragile for low-sec IMHO. |
