You live in a Capitalist world. Nobody cares about a universal currency when three big ones are so close together. Yes, you can give a few examples where this is not true but that's it. The differences are negligible and heaven knows that the US needs more money than Europe at the moment.

Also - CCP = making most money out of the conversional system = WIN. If you are stupid enough to spend MORE on PLEXES(most likely to RMT - why else would you buy 13 come on) than someone else will, why should they not take advantage of your stupidity and world economy?

(I'm actually interested in a solid arugment why someone would not do this except for imagologic/PR reasons)

WAIT

WHEN DID GBP BECOME ONE OF THE BIG 3?

Fascinating. I had no idea that sentient typewriters cared about economics in the human world. Although it must be a British typewriter as it thinks that the GBP is still one of the big three currencies.

Every thirteen bulk plex deals sold gets ccp that much closer to finishing world of darkness so they can finally bail from eve and start the new cash cow. Wink

But nobody bothered to throw a spiffy comeback at my comment about hyperinflation. And here I spent years thinking that hyperinflation was hilarious. Crying or Very sad

Remind me again why people buy PLEX? At $199 for 13, that costs more per 30 days than a subscription, unless I went brain dead and the sub price went up. And frankly, $15US is easier for me to get than the 300,000,000 million ISK for a PLEX. And the $15 is real : EvE is NOT real. If I had to, I could stop paying for EvE and spend that $15 on food (if I had to). Once purchased, all I can use PLEX for is some in-game stuff. I just can't get behind this concept.

What? Negligable? I don't think so, at current exhange rates ...

US Dollars: 199.99
GB Pounds : 123.31
EU Euros : 140.77

Hardly negligable.

Americans have a god-given right to get everything, except for healthcare, cheaper than the rest of the first world.

Feels like a cash grab to me
Successful companies (IE ones that arent in danger of failing) dont tend to do things like this.

Its ones going bankrupt that do

Congrats for being the single person on this forum that actually got the intended subtlety. Also I point everyone at the way new PLEX ads are formulated. I feel insulted to be considered part of that target audience.

Sure, desperation could be a reason for running a sale. But there are other possible reasons as well.

Let me ask you something. Does a dumb chick know when she's being used for sex only? Not really... takes a lot and she takes a lot. Cough.

Now does a smart chick figure out when she's being used the same way? Yes she does. Maybe not instantly but pretty soon.

Now replace sex with milking for cash. Don't you FEEL that you're not even CCP's **** buddy anymore? At least in the past they were less obvious... just sayin'

edit: also its the first time they openly advertise PLEXes as tools for RMT and encouraging people to use them for RMT (when in the past it was just a really well thought way of reaching all target audiences - eg: the 12yo kiddies who don't have credit cards but can farm all day)

You do realize that the ISK from a PLEX doesn't just come out of thin air? And the gametime it creates doesn't disappear till the buyer uses it? PLEX is an enabler for those who don't have the means / want to pay for the game while still being able to play and generate content, with their subs paid by someone with lots of disposable income.

Or this. But it's not an "empire building" tool or "massive space-ship army" tool either.

Let's put it another way. I don't buy plex with cash and I ignore the NeX store. Multimonth subscriptions come out to less than $15 per month per account. With my 2 subscriptions, that comes out to less than $30 per month that I spend on this game. Hardly an expense I give a damn about.
