Hey Everyone,

I had an idea that might be interesting and hope for some feedback.

Greetz,

Joyana Dakota

-------------------------
Random NPC Pirate Events:
-------------------------
Players will receive random distress calls by eve-mail or notification that contains a short message saying an NPC is in danger and they need help. The player can choose to aid the NPC and upon their arrival they will encounter a certain situation that could be different with every encounter. At some situations its a simple pirate attack or a fake bait distress call to lure you to the pirates and you simple have to survive and take them out. Other encounters could mean you need to aid an friendly NPC who's lost their armor and are badly damaged and you need to repair them and defend them from possible incoming hostiles.

A player could also answer the distress and encounter a friendly NPC and a container and the NPC wants you to help him recover his items from the container because the NPC may have lost his password and wants you to crack it with a codebreaker and the same situation could apply to a salvage objective.

You could also answer a distress call and a friendly NPC is in need of a certain item to get them on their way, resulting the player to have to jump to the nearest market hub and get the needed items.

-----------
The Reward:
-----------
The rewards could vary from ISK rewards, item rewards and standing and security status gain for faction and/or NPC corporations.

---------
The Goal:
---------
The goal of these events is to create a more diverse single player experience for mission runners and high security roamers. The incursions were a great addition but often new players are not ready to start those events or don't know their way around the fleets and new players often are more focused on growing into the game and learning how everything works. These random events would be a great stepping stone and give the mission runners a more diverse and more emerging experience and it also adds a more random experience to people who love doing things alone.

The random distress calls add something next to missions, it will learn players different sides of the game and motivate them to learn certain skills that will help them at a later stage.

These kinds of ideas seem very aligned to the whole Exploring goals CCP set for the future. Especially if it's optional it's very interesting, however, care should be taken that people aren't just cruising around to 'farm' these things.

I wonder what the name of that expansion would be?

It should be random and not be a thing of having a distress call every 5 minutes but more unpredictable. If you'd be lucky you'll get 2 in 10 minutes but if you're unlucky the next one will pop up after a few hours.

hint: if you get out of hi sec you'll see a lot of distress calls.

imho other than that there's too much stuff in hi sec. too many people playing with themselves.

isn't it easier to play solitaire it comes with windows and it's free instead of playing a boardgame where you turn the table immediately when you're losing.
