No skill I am aware of increases the amount of munitions the specific guns/launchers can load.

But if you are not aware, this is worked around by carrying spare ammo in your cargo hold. From there, your guns/launchers can auto-reload when they go empty, and you can also right click them individually or as a group and reload specific types of munitions.

Do note it is somewhat a bit of individual taste on how much and how many differing types of ammo you wish to carry, as you may want or may not need extra inventory based on what you are doing.

Well, higher meta level guns can typically also load more rounds of ammo, so with the proper skills you can go for T2 guns, for instance.

Well I guess I made a miscalculation somewhere. Because I thought I noticed a change in ammo capacity in a couple ships I have flown ie. frigates and cruisers. When I first fitted some of these ships they would only hold 40 or 80 per gun. But I thought as I was advancing my skills I could get them up to 120 or 160 per gun. I must have changed guns or maybe different types of ammo are different sizes or something like that. Right now I have a Megathron with 425mm Proto 1 Guass Guns and they only hold 40 per gun of large antimatter charge. I usually keep around 2000 rounds of a couple different types of charges in my cargo bay.

Lighter varieties of guns can hold more ammo.

For example Ion compared to Neutron.

To explain, each and every weapon in the game has a capacity, and each and every ammo a size.

For example, a heavy electron blaster 1 has a capacity of 5m3, and a single round of antimatter M is 0.025m3.

Hence, it can hold 200 rounds.

However, a heavy ion blaster, a different sized blaster that does more damage at longer range, has a capacity of 3m3, so it can only hold 120 rounds.
