the winter expansion will be my make or break.
its not that eve is bad, because its far from it, but back in the day (bitter vet quote now plz stick with me)
CCP were the gaming brosefs, they were approachable helpful and seemed genuinely interested in the product they produced.
trouble is small company made way too much money to stay under the radar and management and investors got greedy with talk of new projects and sky high eve subs.
now we have EVE in a holding pattern while CCP teams are assigned to new projects that don't interest me, or it seems many other subscribers to a space game, (vampires n consoles
many of us feel a close personal connection to the game we have invested many years playing and to see it being milked and abused by its creators, while self same creators lavish love and time on projects the majority of us don't need or want, is why there seems to be such outrage at the moment.
i hope that maybe CCP will see that maybe the current drive to use eve as a beta test for "vampire barbie" is turning sour and bring back the coding and art teams to the eve fold.
but lets be honest here, CCP's long term plan is to go with the vampire teen based mmo, many presentations and excel spreadsheets, i am sure show management how profitable this new genre might be, so EVE will sit in the corner gathering dust, with minimal input to improve the space game or rectify the bugs and issues, and "iteration" lol cant see how the development team can go from 100's to a small handful and still deliver anything new or meaningful.
so yes moral is low, players rage, forums full of hate, but CCP forge ahead into vampireville with smiles and faith.
winter expansion will either prove me right or wrong, lets cross our fingers and hope, as no amount of raging or forum trolling will divert CCP from its current direction.
