tbh, i think so. Alot of players (from what i've seen) have stated the winter expansion will be the turning point. be it good/great, things go back to normal (ish) and all is well in the world again (lol). Be it bad, much rage insues, and another round of sub losses to go with the losses from incarna.

In a game where your players ARE your content, and you simply provide the toys for the sandbox, can CCP Deal with another round of unsubs? (note, i never said CCP would go under...i'm simply wondering if it would cause some hard decisions to be made at CCP HQ)

Discuss.

qq more, can i have your stuff?

Well it's certainly "make or break" point for me. I am not playing anyways and my iskies used for buying plexes will be gone somewhere around New Year so if CCP releases yet another useless empty expansion then I'm gone for good.

ditto here,
the winter expansion will be my make or break.

its not that eve is bad, because its far from it, but back in the day (bitter vet quote now plz stick with me)
CCP were the gaming brosefs, they were approachable helpful and seemed genuinely interested in the product they produced.
trouble is small company made way too much money to stay under the radar and management and investors got greedy with talk of new projects and sky high eve subs.
now we have EVE in a holding pattern while CCP teams are assigned to new projects that don't interest me, or it seems many other subscribers to a space game, (vampires n consoles Rolling Eyes )

many of us feel a close personal connection to the game we have invested many years playing and to see it being milked and abused by its creators, while self same creators lavish love and time on projects the majority of us don't need or want, is why there seems to be such outrage at the moment.

i hope that maybe CCP will see that maybe the current drive to use eve as a beta test for "vampire barbie" is turning sour and bring back the coding and art teams to the eve fold.
but lets be honest here, CCP's long term plan is to go with the vampire teen based mmo, many presentations and excel spreadsheets, i am sure show management how profitable this new genre might be, so EVE will sit in the corner gathering dust, with minimal input to improve the space game or rectify the bugs and issues, and "iteration" lol cant see how the development team can go from 100's to a small handful and still deliver anything new or meaningful.

so yes moral is low, players rage, forums full of hate, but CCP forge ahead into vampireville with smiles and faith.

winter expansion will either prove me right or wrong, lets cross our fingers and hope, as no amount of raging or forum trolling will divert CCP from its current direction.

Yup, as Hilmar said, they gotta "stay the course" even (apparently) if it kills the game cause they are always right. They know best
