I had a carrier and a dread warp to 0 and both went into triage/siege. A two minutes later they bumped off each other at 300m/s (while still in triage/siege), it was my understanding that while in triage/siege you are essentially unbumpable. I've done this dozens of times before and even when they were visually intersecting, did not get a bump.

It's possible that this time I may have had both on grid before going in siege. Would this explain it? It did still take 2 mins or so for the bump to happen.

2 ships that are too close together will always bump eachother away. Sometimes that bump is delayed a bit for some reason, but it doesn't matter.
What siege/triage does is make your mass 10x higher, so that an another ship flying into you will have less effect.
