Until now, one of the most crucial features of Teamspeak and forum registration API checks on external/3rd party sites has been verifying that the same account doesn't hold hostile alliance alts.

Now that you can create a custom API key which only lets you access a single character, does the API query result tell that this API did not necessarily return all characters?

If yes, everything is fine - Sites could decide not to accept such API key.
If not, OUCH.

I want to say that there is a call that returns a key's access mask under the new system, but I may be mistaken. I haven't played around with it all that much yet.

Edit to add: I just tested with my account and APIKeyInfo.xml lists the key as type "Account" if it covers all characters and type "Character" if it only covers one.

So it seems everything is well, as you cannot prevent the API returning all characters from an account API query?

Nice. Cool CCP didn't break it. Shocked Laughing
