Ok people im at the point where i want to make myself a nice drink like a Manhattan or a old fashioned but im out of bourbon again now i could buy the two i normally go for aka knob creek and makers mark but i want to know what ones you would suggest.

PS. on the note of both those drinks has anyone here ever used The Bitter Truth Aromatic Bitters instead of the standard angostaura ones and if so what are they like.

I prefer Fox's chocolate melts, they're just nicer. Though I'll put a few bourbons out for guests, the ones I don't like so much, they don't deserve the good biscuits.

I've become partial to Bulleit, personally. Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve is even better, but at $100 per bottle for the 20 year old and $300 for the 23 year old versions, it's more than I'm willing to pay.

Bulleit is excellent, I recommend it.

And it comes in an old time looking bottle. Good example of "never judge a book by it's cover"
